Attending? There are two calls to action below (attendance/lightning talk); most importantly, please RSVP via this posting's RSVP link below - your name will be submitted to the building's security desk. You cannot be admitted otherwise.

Held in Downtown Boston

The "July" Boston Drupal Meetup will be held on Thursday, June 25 at Acquia 53 State Street, 10th FL / Boston, MA 02109 When you arrive to the building lobby, please stop at the Acquian check-in desk to receive a temporary badge; you'll be directed to the 10th FL elevator bank. The meetup will be held in Acquia's Moodle Training Room.

Note the July meetup is being replaced by this special June event. (Enjoy your holiday/summer vacations!)

About the host: Acquia is the digital experience company. More than 4,000 organizations are transforming their businesses to digital on Acquia’s open cloud platform. Acquia is thrilled to make Downtown Boston their home, inviting you to come raise a glass to their new headquarters.

Agenda

4:00 - 6:30pm: Community Open House

Before the meetup, there will be a community open house hosted by Acquia's Talent Team. Tours, food, drink, networking, and mingling will pre-game the meetup! For either the open house or meetup, please RSVP using the link above as your name will be given to building security.

6:30 - 6:45pm: Meetup Introductions

6:45 - 8:30pm: Lightning Talks

Each volunteer will get up to 5-10 minutes to ask questions of the group, present your recent Drupal work, or other lead Drupal discussion. This is an open floor, and no preparation is required.

  • Sign up in advance for a 5 minute lightning talk with suggestion via comments below.

Parking and Transportation

Acquia's office is train accessible via the State Street T stop on the Blue/Orange Line (below office!) or Park Street T stop (10 min walk). Acquia is also within reasonable walking distance of the commuter rails, North and South Stations. Parking garages and limited on street meter-based parking are also available.

Sponsors/Feature Guests Wanted

If you would like to sponsor future dinners or meet-up locations, please reach out to organizers. You will be recognized at the meeting, given the chance to do a featured talk for 15 min., and promoted to our Boston list of over 1600 subscribers.

Pencil in 1st Tuesdays!

The first Tuesdays are designated Boston Drupal Meetup nights and held at MIT unless noted. Look for future announcements and reminders!

Free software face

freescholar's picture

Agaric is working with the Free Software Foundation to make some short videos that will put a visible 'face' on the free software movement.
Next month we will be filming short interviews of developers that use free software in their work (Drupal comes to mind!). We will be inviting you to be a part of the filming that will eventually end up as a documentary on how the Free Software Movement is gaining massive recognition and raising a voice to protect all of our freedoms. I would like to talk a little bit about how this project came to be and what the outcome could mean to us as a community developing free software together!

For all of us procrastinators: I tried to do an ultra-late RSVP for the Acquia entry list -- but that registration event ended June 21!

Lightning Talk: Headless and Passwordless

R.J. Steinert's picture

Headless and passwordless. I have an experiment I'd like to show people involving how I used a Passwordless approach on a Headless Drupal implementation. I'm hoping to get feedback from folks on UX and security concerns.

Note the token/request and token/use routes in this gist here: https://gist.github.com/rjsteinert/a085222d5970c42d8be7#file-recipe-modu...

Fun Lightning Talk

I really enjoyed this concept and the discussion that came from your demo and a peek at the code from your experimental project. Interested in seeing where this goes. Will try the passwordless module on one of my sites! Thanks.
