we where working on a "formal" announcement but basically it boils down to this: we don't know at the moment.
We lost the venue in the Park and are scrambling to find somewhere else to meet. Also it looks like Sheena's leaving us for greener pastures in the next few weeks so everything's in a state of flux at the moment. Julia's working on lining up a venue, once we have that a date for the next formal meetup will be announced.
If there's interest in an even less formal than usual hack night and you can suggest somewhere to get together and write code for a few hours that would be cool.
Finding a good meeting place is NOT easy! I put info that I found out at http://nccommunities.org/meeting-places
Folks registered on NCCommunities can edit the file to help keep it up to date.
Ideally, you want to find someone who works in the Park in a place that has a good meeting room and is willing to commit to come to all the meetings and be responsible for the facilities. And its nice if they will allow you to bring in food, have a screen, and have a projector.
Public Information Network, Inc. (RTPnet) bought a projector for board meetings and NCTech4Good meetings. I have it at my house and we can use it for Drupal meetings. I live in Chatham county and don't make it to all the meetings, so I'd need to know ahead of time when you'll need it.
The library in Cary is a good meeting place. They don't have a projector (last I knew) and the meeting room is used a lot for book club meetings.
I know there's a lot of interest within the group to get back to our normal schedule of hack nights and training nights and having access to a stable venue would be a huge help. We're definitely interested in taking you up on your offer. What's the best way to get in touch with you to work out the details?
Hi Allen - I saw this thread a couple weeks ago and have since spoken to the crew at my employer. hesketh.com would be happy to host TriDUG events in our space in downtown Raleigh if that would be of interest. Have wireless, room for a fair number of people, etc. Drop me a line (brants at hesketh.com) and I'll put you in touch with the right folks to iron out the particulars.

I wouldn't necessarily say "greener" pastures. Hillier, maybe ;)
Just so everyone knows, I've moved out near Asheville, so I'm just not physically available to organize triDUG events anymore. I still hope that we can eventually have better integration, especially at hack nights, for remote users to participate. And, I'm hoping to schedule my trips back to Raleigh so that they coincide with triDUG meetings.
Greener pastures for Sheena? I wish her all the best, she has been an invaluable help for so many.
When I was firstly looking for the TriDUG group, I stumbled upon a different group that met at a coffee shop, Panera, I think. Is that venue too noisy?

I am looking fwd to meeting everyone on the 23rd. If it doesn't work on using the place, no worries. It does have wireless and have smaller meeting rooms.

Location, Location
Just wanted to update that I still haven't found a location for March. I'm planning on checking with the library in Cary next.

I'll look around
I have one or two in mind. One I know is private and available, but not sure of what they offer other than open wifi.
Let us know if you come up with something
Assuming hack night turnout is the same as usual (five or six people) just about anywhere would do provided there's wireless.
