I was going to begin building the site again next Monday planing on about one and half months of work. I don't mind a version that a little buggy. I worked through tons of bugs, mostly with Drupal, with v1.5.
Is there a configuration of 1.7 that I can use now, and as you iron out the bugs, I can also working in tandem? Or, should I just go ahead and work with 1.6? If the situation is anything like my last build, the whole system is going to be completely custom anyway.
What I'm asking is if there are any particular parts that are buggy which I can remove and implement later if it suits the site's purpose after you've worked through them? What are those buggy parts?
After grokking (yes new term like $()) Drupal Pro Development, Learning Drupal Modules and reading up on jQuery and api.drupal.org I'm feeling confident. I just want to make sure that when I start on Monday that my efforts will be put in the possible direction.
For example, can I install the authors as nodes functionality in 1.6?

Definitely 1.7. It's stable
Definitely 1.7. It's stable enough and we will be releasing it very soon, too.
