8th June 2016 Minutes:

The newly elected committee just had its first meeting of the season.

One of the agreements we made is to share with the rest of the community what happened during the 30 minutes we met via video-call, so here you go:

-1-

The first point we covered was the need a pop up banner for DrupalCon, and stickers. Two committee members (Julie and Roy) took ownership of this point and will have some designs ready before our next monthly meeting. The designs will be based on the existing logo (Stella sent a png). We all decided to keep the design of the pop up banner simple and we all agreed that the colors of the existing logo are not strong enough. The content of the banner was agreed to be at the top (so it won’t be obstructed by people standing in front of it, and consisting of the Drupal Ireland logo and a link to our website). We will not be designing the stickers or leaflets this month, probably will do so the following month.

-2-

We also talked about thoughts on smaller DrupalCamp in November. We first ourselves if we need one at all, concluding that yes, we do indeed need one because not everyone within our community would be going to Dublin DrupalCon (last week in September).

We considered the possibility of the Irish Community being burn out with the efforts spent on the DrupalCon, but suggested to see interest in organisers by raising the point this month’s Drupal meetup in Dublin and also post about it before the meetup so if someone is interested will attend or let us know.

-3-

Then we got some updates regarding the DrupalCon from Stella: Sessions / call for papers have already been opened, so it was suggested to “get your sessions in if you want to talk”. It was also pointed out that the (early bird) tickets are for sale now and that we are starting to prepare a document recommending places to eat/drink/party - eg: Restaurant for 50 people (set menu + wine).

It was then suggested to make this a topic for the Dublin Meetup.

We talked about the possibility of having a welcome party, suggesting Tuesday (first real day of the Con) as a potential date.

We also talked about creating a map to give away at the Con with company logos.

The Pub crawl was also mentioned (Matthew, Conor and other community members had already suggested to give it a literary look/theme at previous meetups in Dublin). Mark suggested to prepare something before the pub crawl. Committee to think about it for next month.

It was also suggested a bike tour.

-4-

We then talked about the situation of the Association Bank Account. Luis (new treasurer) met the weekend after with Ricardo (last year chair), who had a box with coins and some papers to give to the new treasurer. We agreed to try to get a new bank account at AIB, with only a single signatory required, and get online access. And then close the current account, and get a statement.

-5-

Finally, we talked about PR related things such as getting from from Gavin the details for the twitter account (Gavin was the PR last year), tried to find out who setted up our facebook page (we don’t know) and suggested moving the drupal.ie site away from Conor’s (fluidedge) to have it at Jochen’s (freistilbox).

We decided to check with Conor first.

-6-

The Committee will be meeting again on the 13th of July

Hi Roy.

Sorry about that.

It has been changed now to "It was also suggested a bike tour". I don't really remember everything that was said and by who, I thought that it was you.
