We're trying to get a commitment from 45 Drupalers who live on the west coast and need to get to Drupalcon.
It has been suggested that if 45 people wanted to get to one place in style, and have a metric assload of fun doing it, a party bus would be in order. Well, we've found one that'll get us from San Diego to Los Angeles to the Drupalcon conference in San Francisco, and it only costs $60 each!!! If we don't have at least 25-30 people committed and paid up by March 15th (one month till Con), the bus is canceled and we'll all have to go book a flight.
This retrofitted touring coach has a massively cool atmosphere:
* 50 sq. foot Dance Floor with Crystal Clear Dance Pole
* Wrap around super plush limo style seating
* Booming 10,000 watt sound system with iPod connect
* 3 Flat Screen LCD TV's with DVD players
* On-board wet bar (BYOB)
* State of the art mood lighting system with 7 multi color strobes
* Fog Machine
* Luggage space for 45 passengers
* On Board Restroom
Sign up on Facebook right now, before it's too late!
Right now, the plan is to drive from downtown S.D. northward on the I-5 freeway, stop in L.A. at the 5/101 intersection to pick up passengers, then continue to S.F.
If you're going, you need to sign up and pay right away. If we don't have at least 25-30 people committed and paid up by March 15th (one month till Con), I'm canceling the bus and we'll all have to go book a flight. Yes, I will refund your monies if this occurs, less any fees I've incurred with the bus company rental contract.

When do we need to pay? By what date do we need to have enough people signed up and paid to make this happen? What route is the bus going to take between LA & SF? 5FWY? 101FWY?
By the way... this sounds so fun, and such a great networking opportunity!

Why not rent a bus for the number of people you have signed up?
If we only have 11 or so people, then we could rent a smaller, maybe less cool bus! Perhaps we wouldn't do any pole dancing (and really, there are very few computer jockeys who anyone really wants to watch pole dancing) but we could sure have a righteous good time!

The Party Bus is canceled.
I canceled the facebook event because there were only 11 people signed up, and we needed at least 40 to make it cost-effective. Any less than 40 people, and it would be cheaper to fly.
No bus, we're all making our own way there. Sorry.
I'll try it again next year; maybe the Con schedule will be more friendly. :)
