added modules to OpenPublish

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I'm adding functionality by adding contrib modules to OP.
What folder should I use so the OP upgrade goes normal?

the OP modules are in /sites/all/modules
can I use /sites/all/addedmodules?
but how will OP recognize them?

Adding modules to just sites/all/modules should be fine.
