Another way to upgrade from OP 1.5 to OP 1.7

I created a development version of my OP 1.5 site. This week I've been converting it to OP 1.7. Two nights ago I piece by piece rebuilt the theme folder to reflect the OP 1.7 theme folder and made sure that all the theme files are parallel with OP 1.7 theme files. Last night I unistalled the OP 1.5 administration modules and uploaded the new ones into the folder and the OP 1.7 feature modules. All I had to do was change on function in template.tpl and the whole system seems to be working without any problems. After cleaning up blocks and context, I'm going to rebuild the block layouts tonight inside of contexts. I also think that I'm going to have to build the article content type manually rather than enable the feature since it's already custom. I also think that I'll have to rebuild the views manually. But it should be worth the effort.

Sounds like a great progress.

Regarding article content type and Features in general: you could still enable OP_Article feature and then customize it if you wanted, rather than doing the whole thing manually. Might be less work & more future-prone.

I first went ahead and patched the noderelationship module via Putty. Then I installed Node Relationships, Features and OP Features. There are some issues with not being able to configure Node Relationship extras settings. /admin/content/node-type/article/relationships/noderef

Twenty minutes later...... I did not have any luck by running update.php or reverting to Node Relationships 6003. However, after I ran cron it all seems to work just fine...... so far.
