Last night at the Central Connecticut Drupal Meetup, it was suggested that we meet more frequently than once a month and many hands went up in favor of the suggestion. It's also been suggested previously that we meet at a location that is easier for attendees from the New Haven area and consider a meeting night besides the 3rd Tuesday of every month.
With those suggestions in mind, having read over previous postings, and having looked at the calendar of other regional Drupal Meetups and technology groups, I propose we meet a second day each month on:
- the 1st Monday of each month, or
- the 1st Thursday of each month, or
- the 2nd Tuesday of each month, or
- the 4th Tuesday of each month.
I propose we meet in the Meridan area as it moves one of our two monthly meetings closer to New Haven while still remaining centrally located for most who have previously posted their thoughts and attended meetings.
And, I propose that we continue to meet once a month on the 3rd Tuesday of the month because it has worked well for a group of people so far.
I opted to post this as a discussion rather than as a poll so responders can offer their suggestions.
Please let us know your preference for a second meeting day during each month, in addition to our continuing to meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, considering my suggestions above.
In particular, let us know:
- whether you would attend both meetings each month at Hartford and Meriden
-
whether you would attend only one of the two meetings each month and which meeting
-
your preference for the second meeting day from the above suggestions
-
if you cannot attend the 3rd Tuesday meeting but can attend one of the suggestions above
-
if you cannot attend the 3rd Tuesday meeting and cannot attend any of the suggestions above and would like to suggest some other day of the month
-
if you cannot/would not attend the Hartford meeting but can/would attend a meeting in the Meridan area
- if you cannot/would not attend the Hartford meeting and cannot/would not attend a meeting in Meridan (and cannot/would not attend the Stamford meeting) and would like to suggest some other location for the second meeting of the month
Let's see what people have to say and see if there is a consensus of sorts...
Thanks,
Mark

At this time, any of the proposed days of the month would work for me.
I am flexible on nights and
I am open to meeting nights and interested.
Tuesdays and Thursdays
I can do any of the proposed Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Mondays and Tuesdays Better
I CAN NOT do Thursdays. For the most part, Mondays and Tuesdays are good and I would like to attend both meetings.
Any work for me
Looks like a poll and comments may be the way to get an answer to this.
Also I know creating a group site was mentioned I came across this today

Just thought it was cool and would throw it out there.
All but 2nd Tuesday
2nd Tuesday's of the month are usually booked (Condo assoc.). Otherwise I'm pretty flexible.
Seeking concensus for a 2nd monthly meeting at Tuesday's Meetup
There were a few comments in this disscussion regarding adding a second monthly Meetup to the Central Connecticut Drupal Group, and several responses to the two polls I created - mostly from New Haven folk who do not attend our Meetup in Hartford.
It is likely that a New Haven Meetup will be created as there is strong interest for a Meetup among Drupalists in that area.
We have had strong attendance at the Central Connecticut Drupal Meetup in Hartford, and I believe strong and consistent attendance is important to guarantee long-term success for the group.
Will the new or upcoming Drupal Meetups in New Haven, Lower Fairfield and Western MA, satisfy the interest for a second Meetup group expressed at our last Central Connecticut Drupal Meetup, or is there still a strong enough interest to warrant starting a second monthly Meetup in Greater Hartford?
(I would be enthusiastic to help make that happen but believe we should be careful not to dillute the success we have been experiencing. Should there be some but not strong interest, there is always the possibility to hold a monthly Meetup with formal presentations as we have been holding, and add a second monthly Meetup with less formality and more discussion of individual challenges/problems we are facing. Alternatively, the second monthly Meetup could focus on the development of a group project.)
Please bring your thoughts to Tuesday's Meetup.
If you will not be attending Tuesday's Meetup, please send me your thoughts beforehand, particularly if you would want to attend two monthly Drupal Meetups in Greater Hartford, and particularly, if a particular day of the month would make that impossible for you.

Decision on Additional Central Connecticut Drupal Meetups
At our May 18th Meetup, we decided:
The Central Connecticut Drupal Meetup Group will continue to hold monthly Meetups with formal presentations on the third Tuesday of each month in Greater Hartford as we have been doing very successfully.
Additional meetings of our group will be scheduled in Greater Hartford as needed to facilitate the development of a group project designed to keep things interesting, to continue to learn from each other, and to give back to the community.
We would like to work with other regional Meetups when possible to share speakers, expertise and ideas; to create larger events; and generally, to promote Drupal throughout Connecticut.

Any day but the 1st, 2nd and last Tuesday
In general Tuesdays is a bad day for me. Civil air patrol, Economic development commission, ... and so on. Most of the meetings seem to be on Tuesday.
Other days look feasible.
Thanks for the good work!
