Unmoderated groups

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I unmoderated the wysiwyg and a couple of local user group groups. Hopefully I haven't overstepped... They seemed like reasonable groups. I didn't unmoderate the victoria one because it doesn't even have a description.

Is there a set policy somewhere on what groups are allowed and who is allowed to allow them? Obvious spam ones I delete but I'm never sure if I should be unmoderating the legit ones or not.

Thanks,

Michelle

guidelines are published

The basic guidelines are listed at http://groups.drupal.org/node/add/og.

We have a further understanding among approvers that overlap is to be avoided, and we really want working groups and geographic groups to be big and inclusive, not small and specialized. Our biggest threat is empty room syndrome.

Group owners must provide an accurate description and welcome message for their groups.

what more is needed

Michelle - any sugfgestions on what needs clarifying on the node/add/og page or in my comment above? Seems like those are easy URLs to share in IRC.

Email discussion

Some of the discussion of this was held in email. Now the issue has come up on IRC and it would be nice to be able to point to the discussion. Could we either post the emails here or have the people involved restate it in comments?
