Feeds vs FeedAPI

My understanding is Feeds is the replacement for FeedAPI.

Does this mean we can remove the FeedAPi from modules?

I noticed there are some enabling issues with OP proprietary modules associated with FeedAPI.

Eventually FeedAPI will definitely be replaced by Feeds (or something else) but quite honestly it's not very high on the priority list because FeedAPI does its job, for now, too.

Any reason I would not want to swap them out you can think of? their base modules seem to play nice enabled together.
