Hi, I'm working with a recent install of OpenPublish 2.0 and am finding everything to be really smooth so far, but for one thing. Images uploaded through the OP interface are not showing up in Safari. There are greyed-out placeholders where the images would be but no image. They look fine in Firefox. I looked around online and found some sense that last year people were writing in various Drupal fora about this problem. The upload/ file browser, while available, doesn't work--it gets hung-up--and the images do not show up (in Safari). So, these images that I'm not able to see in Safari, are uploaded through the Firefox browser. I can cite the references for what I found online about this, if that helps, but my hope is that someone around this OP group will have heard of my problem and know of a solution. I find no reference to anyone else having this problem with OP, so I am probably just missing a step but I cannot figure out what it is...

i'm now experiencing the same problem. Earlier today, I had my logo image displayed. I uploaded a photo for my featured frontpage story and now neither the logo nor the article image appear - only a cracked image as if it cannot be found or loaded. I updated my modules, ran update.php, cleared the cache, checked permissions - all to no avail.

is your issue happening in safari? i am not sure what was causing my problems, but some combination of permissions for imagecache module, but stattler had some suggestions for how a problem with clean urls could be the cause... so i went and figured out how to enable that, whew--it involved adding some code to an .htaccess file put in the drupal directory i'm working with on a shared bluehost server....
for a while i got things to work, then they stopped working, then it was both safari and firefox. after more fiddling, and stattler's advice to perhaps modify the base url in the settings.php file -- so it went directly to my site
anyhow, sometimes the images would appear in the front page view (again, i'm right out of the OP box) and sometimes in the individual article/node view. it was both thumbnail and the main image using the upload function that otherwise seemed so good...
anyhow, oddly, now it's all working. so, thanks stattler, you really saved me weeks of cluelessness.
and now I have clean URLs working!

I have clean urls working. This problem appears in Safari, Firefox and Chrome. I've updated all my modules, ran update/cache. Checked all permissions (fine), tried displaying the logo with/without a featured main image - still no images appear. I've gone through every change I made today and reversed them all - still no images. This happened on a production site. I've had to put up an off-line message. If a solution cannot be found by Noon EST Wednesday, I'm moving to WordPress.

Can you give me an example of the live site? I know the URL of your site, but can you change the url to something say, beta1.yourdomain.com and let me know?
Or alternatively, can you point your mouse to an image and with a right-button-click get the url of the image and try to open that URL on a new browser tab? Does that work? It will give you idea where the problem might be.

When I right-click on the broken front page image, I get this url and message:

Page not found
That dir didn't exist, so I created it. That displays the story with a box, the credits and a broken image. Right-click on that broken image and you get this url:
mysite.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/400xY/skillman2_3.png
Page not found.
That dir and filename exist.
I've tried creating another story with a different image, but get the same results.

My site's back. I backed-up the database, then set fire to the installation. After re-installing 2.0, I immediately tested the image upload feature and it worked. So, I'm back in business - and without having to resort to another platform. After using Drupal and OP, the thought of downgrading to another platform was akin to driving a compact car after getting used to a fire-breathing monster truck.
