Here's what's coming up for this May 12th meeting in the Balboa Park Hall Of Champions:
Dale Clarke from Digitaria will give a presentation on front end performance concepts, configuration changes, front end performance improving modules, and hopefully some stats from real websites. Things to discuss include:
* An overview of page load times, Steve Souders, etc
* Talk about YSlow and PageSpeed
* Etags
* Expires headers for CSS, JS, and images
* CSS & JS aggregation and jsmin (http://drupal.org/project/javascript_aggregator)
* Runaway CSS background images and CSS sprites (http://drupal.org/project/sprite)
* smush.it
We'll also do a good round of Lightning Talks. Lightning talks give anyone (and I mean anyone - you, the person next to you and the one across the room) the chance to discuss a recent Drupal thought, observation, or experience that takes five minutes or less to talk about. You can teach us something, wonder out loud why X doesn't work like you think it should, or ask questions about some Drupally thing you're struggling to understand. The only rule for Lightning Talks is that you're going to be stopping at five minutes whether you're done or not. Other than that's it's fair game, so step up and have fun!
Finally, we'll recap DrupalCon SF. If you've been there last month, tell us the stand-out items which stuck in your mind. I am sure everyone's experience was different, so let's gather the impressions and spread the newest Drupal insights, secrets and developments.
Newcomers are always welcome, bring any of your friends that might be interested in learning about Drupal. We hope to see you on Wednesday at the Balboa Park Hall of Champions.

Lightning Talks
Hey Christoph: Thanks for the post on the meeting, sounds very interesting. I really like the conference checklist under Karl's post. I would add "Don't read your PowerPoint Slides. My eyes work just fine"
I have two lightning talks. One on Lynda.com/SDUG and the other on RFP/Project Management. See everyone there!
