I keep hearing that there will be instructions, but where are they?
I need a) instructions from 1.6 to 1.7
and b) then instructions from 1.7 to 2.0
Do the developers have any desire to help us move forward? We all don't have blogs that we can scrap and start over with every two months.
For OP to work, we need to be able to upgrade from version to version.

There are instructions to upgrade from 1.6 to 1.7. Please search the forum or go to opepublish website. But there are no instruction yet to upgrade from 1.7 to 2.0

Ok thanks will do
Are there plans to give us instructions?
Or are they making upgrades with no thought toward existing users?
I understand your
I understand your frustration. I myself feel the same, sometimes. I guess the developers are making progress behind the scene. May be the upgrade path is not straight forward. So its taking time for them to come up with something good.

OP 1.6 -> 1.7 update
OP 1.6 -> 1.7 update instructions: http://openpublishapp.com/download/op-1dot6-1dot7-update-instructions
OP 1.7 -> 2.0 update instructions: http://openpublishapp.com/download/op-1dot7-2dot0-update-instructions
Please keep in mind 1.7 -> 2.0 is a major version upgrade and the update process may be more rocky than the one in 1.6 -> 1.7
@stattler,
you are absolutely correct. Before we release update instructions we go through rigorous testing and fixing to come up with the instructions that actually work. It's very tedious and time-consuming process, considering how many independent modules make up OpenPublish. We are working on a more automated process, as well, which is happening in http://drupal.org/project/distro and the end-result of that will be that eventually an update will be much easier, but we need to get there. Doing the update instructions manually has been a tremendous experience and the architecture of the distro module will change accordingly, as well.

Thanks!
It worked
Took some time, but there don't seem to be any problems.
My main issue is that the sizes of the middle column is smaller, so my all my videos need to be shorter.
