Don't theme yourself into a corner. We built Fusion after years of feedback from designers, site builders, clients, and developers. It's a powerful and supported base theme, with layout and style configuration options built in that you (or your clients) can control through Drupal's UI using the Skinr module. Based on a simplified 960px or fluid 12 or 16-column grid, you can easily define your own custom grid if needed.
In this session we'll cover the basics of Fusion from a themer's point of view, and how it makes themes more sustainable and makes your work flow more efficient. We'll show you how to get started using Fusion as a base theme, how to use the collapsible regions and theme settings to set up the layout you need, and how to begin creating more sustainable themes using Skinr.

If anyone has any feedback for me - any ideas of how i could make the information easier to understand, make the presentation or my delivery more interesting, or anything I didn't cover that you would have liked to see, please let me know! You can leave a comment here, I won't be mad at you even if it's criticism! I'd like to keep improving this presentation and you can help me do that.
Thanks!
Thank you for the great Dojo session
Hi Sheena,
First, I thought that was a very informative webinar. I learned a lot from that one session. I have only been a Drupal developer/themer for 15 hours, so it was very timely for me. The presentation definitely helped my adjustment to Drupal. I am currently using Fusion/960 and I am finding values in using them. Overall, I thought your presentation was well put-together. You were very open to questions (perhaps responding to some of them at the end might help) I agree with Kim-Day that it would be good if you spend more time with some of the code. But other than that, I can't think of anything else. It was a good and information presentation. Thanks for your time putting this together for others. Blessings!
lots of good info
thanks for doing this. I caught the first half of the presentation and found it useful. (I keep trying to find time to play with fusion and skinr so this gave me more reasons to do just that.)
I'll leave my 2 cents as far as suggestions for improvements go. I find in attending a drupal presentation (not just this one) that I'll be keeping up and following along and then all at once (about the time the presentation starts showing a bit of code), I feel lost and wonder what I missed. This isn't because I don't understand the code, just that I missed the presenter's transition from ideas/gui screenshots to whatever the really detailed piece of code is. I guess my suggestion would be to spend more time on talking about what the code is, where it is located, what it's doing, why we're talking about it.
Hope this helps - thanks again for the great presentation.
Thanks, Kim. That is
Thanks, Kim. That is excellent feedback!

Question
The Acquia Prosper them appeared to have photos grouped together so that multiple photos were switching in one block. I uploaded all of the necessary modules for lightbox2 to work and now need to know how to implement this task. Please excuse my lack of abilities on Drupal; I am only a day old. I love this site though and have already started to add menus with drop downs and children. I know i will need someone to walk me by the hand to get this done starting from the very basics. How to upload a jpg. and then add it to a "node"? or "file"? and then add that to the group? and then add that to the gallery? Im not sure how to even start from square one. Do I create a block first that will contain the gallery?
I went to this video for help http://fusiondrupalthemes.com/story/100825/screencast-using-cobra insurance-creating-skinr-skin-sets but I didn't find much info there. Any help on this would be awesome. And thanks for all the posts. I've found it to be a very valuable resource for me as I learn to find my way through all this :)

Thanks again to Sheena for a great Dojo session. We will be revisiting this topic quite often.

That was a great presentation!!!
I've been wanting to find some walk-throughs that I can follow along with and build upon my (at this time) minimal Drupal prowess.
I just love Fusion, and there is such potential, yet a bit of getting one's head around things are pretty much a prerequisite - a prerequisite that, for me at least, is being met via these presentations.
I'm looking forward to more :)
Thank you so much Sheena!!!!!
Kindest regards,
Bradley
