How to Restore Site?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I have an OP2.0 *.sql database that is intact. I also have my child theme. Is it possible to install OP 2.0 and redirect it to this populated database to create a working system?

Yeah, db settings are in: ...\sites\default\settings.php.

Just run the .sql file over an empty mySQL database and put the username, password and db location & name in the settings.php file.

  1. Install OP.
  2. Drop the database records.
  3. Import the old .sql into the new .sql.
  4. Change the username, pw and db location in the settings.php file.
  5. The site is back up and operational.
