Is this group alive?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I'm on my way back from the Lullabot API Workshop in Portland. I saw this group.
Is it alive? If not I'd love to revive it.

not really

I don't think much goes on in the group. I'm actually trying to start my own part time business in the Lafayette area developing sites for bands, churches, businesses, etc with Drupal. If you want to organize something, I might be interested in joining.

Exactly.

I have not heard any response from Souvent22. I would certainly love to be involved with a local Drupal Group, and I wouldn't mind starting my own. I do want to give some time to the other people in this group. Perhaps someone will respond. Who knows?

Mike, will you be in Indy anytime soon? I must say I don't fancy the idea of the 90 minute trip to Lafayette. Perhaps we can get together some time. I do like what you've done with the church site.
Give me a ring at 317-531-7216 if you want to hang out and talk Drupal some time. What I learned in Portland was astounding. Also, I'll be going to the theming workshop in L.A. in 3 weeks. I can't wait.

To anyone else reading...
Let's get this group [or a new group] going. I believe that I can secure a free meeting room in Broadripple at 53rd and North Keystone ave. The room has high speed wi-fi, class room layout, a white board, and even a projector with screen. It's where i locate my server.

Alive and Well

Hello. I just got back from NYC and been busy with some projects. But I would love to live to get togather with you guys sometime. What days are good for you guys? I'm downtown, near the Hudson (just 1 block south of O'Malias).

Very Available.

My schedule is very flexible.
The phpmeetup group that I belong to posted an ad on craiglist announcing their 1st meeting back in September. That's the only reason I knew about it.
If we pick a time, I'd be happy to post an announcement on craigslist and see if we can whip up some interest.
Alternately if we as a group wish to have a meeting which initially includes only us, that would be fine. We can go public with the 2nd meeting if you prefer that route. For that matter I'm available during day or night. Obviously if we want to invite the public we'll go with nights.

There you have it.
What do you think?

not really flexible

If you guys schedule something, I may be able to fit it in. Trying to schedule something around my schedule would be tough. I'm a grad student at Purdue, and my family only has one car. So, to drive to Indianapolis would have to be a well-planned thing.

Just keep me updated about any possible meetup times and I will do my best to make it.

Hey Mike

dougvann's picture

Mike,
Since your schedule is the most prohibitive could you please specify what is best for you? Days or evenings? What day of the week. It sounds like the rest of us are pretty open.
I'm going to go ahead and test for general interest with a post on Craigslist. If I get any responses I'll fill them in on what we are doing.
Let us know what is good for you Mike.

sidenote: Wednesday Feb 6th is the PHP MeetUp in BroadRipple. I'll be in L.A. at the Drupal Themeing Workshop, but you guys may want to consider attending. It's a really good time to see what resources people are using to develop in PHP as well as MySQL. Here's the link to the meetup http://php.meetup.com/394/ I am the only Drupal guy in the group. Meetings range from 3 in attendance to 7; just the right size for really fact filled and helpful conversations.

I would like for the next Drupal gathering to be some day next week. Any issues with that?

Nights not the best for me, but...

with enough notice I could meet. I live in Greenwood, but I work on Meridian near the Children's Museum. I'm very new to Drupal (I've done a few sites...) but I'm more of a designer and less of a developer. I've learned quite a bit about Drupal since August, but I've got lots of room to learn more. I'm also a freelancer and am always looking for new clients. I do love Drupal.

Saw your ad on Craigslist. Not sure how much help I'd be at a meeting, but I learn quickly and would love to leech the collective knowledge (and eventually contribute.)
