The 'My Account' pages on g.d.o and d.o should have a option to embed the Drupal Association Badge. Maybe use a checkbox style similar to g.o -- It would be nice to verify the badge, so maybe provide a link to the association membership with the image?

Ideally, we will do this auto-magically as part of implementing a new OpenID-based distributed login system.

Sounds good, Chicago User Group just installed the OpenID.module and was impressed. I like how users that have an account can still take advantage of the OpenID registration. They just need to log in to thier existing account and add their OpenID under "My Account".
