I have one space in my car if anyone is in need. Leaving Friday around noonish, coming back Sunday right after the Summit.

Portland or Seattle?

Leaving from Portland or Seattle? If Portland, I'm interested.

From Seattle, but if someone

Currently Driving from Corvallis, Oregon

I am currently planning on driving from Corvallis, Oregon all the way to BC on Friday, should have room in the car.
Kind of a long drive.

Split room and driving

wonder95's picture

I have hotel room with two beds if any guys would like to split that with me. I'm staying at the Holiday Inn.

I'm also looking for someone to ride with from Portland. I can drive if necessary (in my primo 1991 Toyota Camry), or I'd be willing to ride with someone else and pay gas.

Still looking for someone to spit a ride and room

Still looking for someone who might want a ride and also to split a hotel room (guys only on the hotel room).

I'm taking the train

I'm taking the train from Portland. It switches to an Amtrak bus from Seattle to Vancouver. $131 RT. I suppose it's a bit slower - as long as you don't hit Seattle traffic. But for those who might get stuck driving alone, it seems like a good option if you're near the I5 corridor and coming from Oregon. And it stops in Vancouver pretty close to everything, just blocks away.

I'm staying in Hojo's for about $50 a night, that's Canadian dollars, though that's not the savings it used to be. It's only a few blocks away as well.

See you all at the Friday night party.

And the website says the summit is sold out. Hope you got your ticket already.

if anyone can't go, i'd love your ticket

Train to Vancouver

jenniferannwalsh's picture

Hi Dean,

Just wanted you to know that Amtrak has extended the train that goes from Portland to Vancouver until Oct. 31st (so no bus). It's way more pleasant than the bus since you go through customs in the station/on the train. Not sure how you change your ticket but I'm guessing if you are on the 2:50 from PDX you will automatically be on the train. The return is the one that leaves at 6 in the morning from YVR. You could give them a call to confirm you get the train the entire trip.

Best, Jen

Thanks for mentioning this

Thanks for mentioning this, Jen. On Friday going up, I'm taking an earlier train so that I will be there for the evening, and I don't want to mist the PAR-TAY. But on the return I was able to change my ticket (no change fees!!!) to take a direct train all the way back, and will get home 3 hours earlier as a result.

Good luck finding a ticket. They sometimes get cancellations, so I'd contact the organizers and see if they have a waiting list.
