Oxford Drupal Users' Group exists to hold regular informal meetings for anyone in Oxford interested in Drupal.
We usually meet at 7pm on the first Wednesday of the month at the OeRC: 7 Keble Road, Oxford, OX1 3QG, but do check out http://www.meetup.com/Oxford-Drupal-Users-Group/ for confirmation.
Meeting before July 2 OxDUG: anyone interested?
Last OxDUG, a couple of us met up for the afternoon beforehand at Java & Co and worked from there, using their excellent "rolling free wifi with each purchase." Others joined us eventually too, and we ended the day with pre-OxDUG food at Mission Burrito.
Anyone interested in doing something like that this time? It's a bit fiddly for me as I'll need to get a machine with PHP5.4 on it for Tanc's workshop, but hopefully I can spend at least an hour or two there.

In a couple of weeks, 2degrees in Summertown will kindly host the second Sustainability Hackday ("SusHack"). I was wondering if a Drupaler or two might like to join me for the day!
My local volunteer organization Sustainable Witney helps conduct thermal imaging of people's houses. It's been doing this for two successful years now, and there are other groups in Oxfordshire (and maybe even beyond?) that do it as well.

August OxDUG happening?
Is August OxDUG happening? Finn suggested he might not be around, and was thinking about maybe not having an OxDUG then.
Like a swine and a cad I didn't attend July OxDUG, as I went home on rails and completely forgot I had it in my calendar and everything.
But also, like an even bigger swine/cad, I've had to arrange Oxford Geek Night to clash with August OxDUG (keynotes couldn't do any other date.) So I'm not so much asking for myself, as asking for clarity for everyone else!

Hi all.
I very much enjoyed taking part in the on-line meeting earlier this week where we continued the discussion about setting up a national Drupal association in England and Wales. A core part of the discussion was around the options for legal entity.
As discussed elsewhere, the main options seem to be
1) Company Limited by Guarantee
2) Company Limited by Shares
3) Industrial and Provident Society
4) Charity

Following a number of talks at Drupalcamp London which mentioned MariaDB, we've been looking into using it ourselves in place of MySQL.
Pretty much unequivocally, what I was hearing from Drupalers was that it was a definite improvement. With that in mind, my colleague Dave managed to get it working along with nginx on our shared VM environment.
