Oxford Drupal Users' Group exists to hold regular informal meetings for anyone in Oxford interested in Drupal.
We usually meet at 7pm on the first Wednesday of the month at the OeRC: 7 Keble Road, Oxford, OX1 3QG, but do check out http://www.meetup.com/Oxford-Drupal-Users-Group/ for confirmation.
Oxford Drupal User Group - Reviewing the Format
We had a great turnout (~18) last night at the monthly meetup of the Oxford Drupal User Group, and had three presentations lined up, which is more than usual (Often we don't have any presentations planned, but people often have ad-hoc demos). The three presentations were all really interesting in different ways, so a massive thanks to the presenters. However, we did allow all presentations to run on longer than planned.

Thank you to the Drupal Ladder project, from Oxford Drupal Users Group
Dear Drupal Ladder project,
Ten members of the Oxford Drupal Users Group (OxDUG) had a great time last weekend doing the first five rungs of the Drupal Ladder. Here's a writeup of our day.
As we went on, we did provide some feedback in the comments of the lesson plans. However, because most of this feedback was - necessarily - negative, we also wanted
to just say thanks, for providing the structure that helped us to train up.

Please add items to which you might like to work on at the event. This does not commit you to this on the day. Hopefully this will act as some sort of guide to help with teams or ideas.
An issue sprint was mooted.

Another Drupal ladder sprint?
Oxford Drupal Hack
What: An unconference/hack event to come and work on Drupal projects in a fun and light hearted atmosphere. It is a doing and learning event. The agenda is slightly up in the air since we need to know how many people are coming.
You are not committed to starting on anything new or even to complete the whole task. It may be that you have an urge to do some patching or that you would like to complete some not for work modules. Or even work on work modules. Up to you. All we ask is that you come with an open mind and want to help and learn.

Fellow OxDUG people:
We're hosting our first Drupal Ladder learn sprint on Saturday 6 October. This is an opportunity to learn skills which will both help the Drupal project and also help you to become a more skilful Drupaler. Don't forget your laptops: this is a working meeting!
It will be at the Torchbox offices near Charlbury, a short train journey from Oxford. From the station to the offices is a 20-minute walk through a country estate and along a deer park.
Along with office space, Torchbox will provide a sandwich lunch. More information will be added on this wiki page as we work out the details.

Writeup of the event now available on the Torchbox website.
Event details here. This wiki page provides extra information about what we'll do on the day.
What
Learn sprints are a way of helping everyone get up the Drupal Ladder: learn skills which will both help Drupal core (because they can contribute more); and also help themselves (because they'll be better at Drupal, will be able to influence core decisions, and more generally know how to find their way round the forums and issue queues.)
How
This will be a working meeting, so bring your laptops: you'll be expected to work on your own computers!
You should also pre-register an account on http://drupalladder.org . It takes a couple of minutes. Have a look around the site too: especially click on the lowest ladder rungs to get an idea for what's involved.

Edit: if you're interested, there is a plan for the day which anyone can edit if they think it could be improved. Also, you should sign up for the dates you're interested in asap!
If you were at the last OxDUG, you might have heard heather talk about the Drupal Ladder project. Do enough people in OxDUG want to do this some time in the next month or two?
Primarily the Drupal Ladder is an attempt to get more people contributing to Drupal core; but for the individual Drupaler it also provides structured training to become a more skilful Drupal developer. So everybody wins.

Morning,
Do we have anything planned for tonight?
I have a short talk on Entity Forms which I said I would do last month but have we got anything else for the agenda? Drupalcon Munich? Hackday for OXDuG site?
All best,
Iain

Hi all,
There's four of us that work in a satellite office of Mumford & Wood doing IT. We're mainly Perl developers (sorry!) working on in house systems, but our skills include various web technologies, including Drupal, Linux sys admin etc.
We need to move out of where we're currently working, and are looking for some office space with Internet access, some furniture, and ideally access to a meeting space. As two of us commute from the North of Oxford, we'll looking for somewhere on the North side of town; so in the Summertown to Headington quadrant.

About a year ago at an OxDUG meeting, the idea of having an OxDUG website was mooted as a group project. Might I suggest that we revisit this idea at the next OxDUG meeting as a group project in which every one who wants to can help design, develop & administer?

Hi all,
Raz and I have just had a quick get together to attempt to organise a smaller hackday/unconference. We would like to get together to have a 'build a module' gathering to share skills, experience and ideas between the skill levels in the group. Ideally we would like to have somebody to help guide the day (I have emailed someone to ask if they would be able to help with this) and are suggesting Saturday 18th August at the OeRC (near Drupalcon I know!).
