PDX Homebrewers : Help add some local flair to the PNWDS party!
Calling all homebrewers! Want to help add a unique, community touch to the summit party? Show off your brewing skills by donating your home-brewed beer to the event. We are looking for donations of 5-10 gallons of beer from each brewer. The beer may be in bottles or in kegs (ball/pin/sankey connectors all OK). Contact Tyler Ward, @twardnw or twardnw in IRC (#drupal-pnw or #drupal-pdx), to express interest.

After a little more than two years running our Drupal frontend meetup, I need to take a break. I still enjoy the group and I don't want to get to the point where I resent it.
It would be great to keep it running, because I think it's been an asset to our community. So I can continue helping out in a support/advisory role if someone else would manage finding topics and speakers, make announcements, and kick off the meetups.
If one of you wonderful people wants to step in, awesome, let's keep on doing cool stuff. If not, we'll suspend the meetups for the time being.

Read moreContent Recommendation System in Drupal
I will be presenting the first version of the content recommendation system I built for software.intel.com, a large Drupal 7 site.
The bulk of the presentation will be about content recommendation systems and our specific implementation. The Drupal portion of the project is a small piece of the puzzle (loading a JSON file from Amazon S3 via AJAX in a block).
I could also present this at the DUG if there is interest.
From the Meetup:

I'd like to have an initial planning meeting soon (next couple of weeks?), so once I have your name I'll send you a Doodle poll.
