Good Morning Everyone!
I had a great time at the meet up last night and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Rachel and I've been a freelance content administrator for several years now; working with several companies such as Genuine Interactive, ISITE Design, and New Group on various content migration, front end development and social media tasks. The majority of the site i've worked on are in Drupal, with a few in WordPress and SiteCore (I drastically prefer Drupal, for obvious reasons.)

Read moreScarcity of Drupal Developers: A double edged sword?
So, over the past few years I've noticed a notable scarcity of Drupal developers. Demand for talented individuals is high, supply is low. I remember going to a PDX DUG a few years back and there were two job openings spoken for every person attending... and everyone attending was employed!
The pro's of this seem to be quite notable for us as developers, no one made anything close to this when I first got into this all back in D5! However Is this scarcity creating a turnoff for companies/organizations considering Drupal?

Hey Portlanders,
This is just a reminder that this month (December) there will be no Drupal Frontend meetup. I will be out of town on the 18th and a quick poll at the last FEDUG showed near unanimous support for just skipping the month and picking back up in January.
That being said, January will be an exciting month! Dan Muzyka and Courtney Koppenhaver have prepared a talk about theming in Drupal 8 with Twig!

As usual, we'll meet at 6pm in the Phase2 offices at 514 NW 11th, Suite 203 (map). Following a bit of socializing and pizza (thanks to our sponsors OMBU), we'll break into teams and compete to the death for fun and fabulous prizes. Remember to bring your laptop and creative holiday spirit.
Following the meetup we'll head to a nearby pub for drinks and more socializing.
