Brewpal is coming up!
We're almost through the first month of the year, but don't forget about Brewpal next Tuesday!
It's an informal gathering where we get together with our laptops and work together on whatever we want. Spice it up with some good food, tasty beverages and great conversation. In the past we met at Lucky Lab, but this month Metal Toad has invited the group to their new offices at 522 SW 5th Ave Suite 400.
So come on downtown next Tuesday at 5 (or when you can make it)!

In the previous thread about the BrewPal venue, a few of us suggested an interest in the PDX Drupal Users Group considering a rotating venue for the Meet-up. I'm actually unclear on the history of how this venue has been selected. Regardless, OpenSourcery, and now Phase 2, have been very generous in opening their space to the community.
There would be a number of benefits to a rotating venue:
- The community gets to experience and share creative ideas about how offices/floor plans are setup to support effective teams.
- Job seekers get to experience the culture of various shops.
Full-time Drupal training in Portland
Hi all -
I wanted to share an awesome Drupal training program. I visited the Epicodus shop a couple of weeks ago and they have a fantastic program. I know that you are not the target audience for their class, but you probably know someone who should attend. Best part - internships and job support when the class is over. I definitely want them to see Drupal as a positive new market!
Epicodus is launching what may be the first full-time

After lots of discussion, both online here and in person at various meetups, I've decided to branch the PDX DUG out every once in awhile and allow shops around town to offer us their offices to host a meetup.
This month ThinkShout has generously offered not only to host the meetup at their offices, but will also be sponsoring the food and refreshments. Thanks ThinkShout!
For this month's topic, Sheldon Kreger will be talking about Amazon's Elastic Beanstalk service:
Read moreTraining Options in Portland Area
We are looking for any training that might be available in the Portland area. We are fairly new to Drupal (installed it and played with it a bit) and would like some live training where discussions of scenarios and implementation options would be welcome. Training would ideally need to be either on-site, or at least local here in the PDX region. This is a corporate environment, so it would not be a viable option to enroll in a long-term course (what I have seen described by Epicodus). We are looking for about a week of training for 2 people (maybe 3) with follow-up options available.
Read moreMigrate Module experience?
Does anyone have experience using the Migrate module or Feeds module to migrate CCK file fields from a Drupal 6 site to a Drupal 7 site?
We currently use the Feeds module to partially handle this file transfer requirement, but Feeds does not natively handle a file's Title field. We also use the Migrate module to pull in most other node data from D6 to D7, but Migrate does not seem to handle CCK file fields out of the box.
