CCK Audio?

Hey everyone!

Trying to sort out a way to work with audio files and CCK. I've got a project I'm helping out with, where users will put audio files in, and it would be nice if they could be played right on the node.

Need suggestions for video players

I need some good-looking and versatile video players which of course will work cross-browser. I need them for both 3rd party videos (YouTube) and for locally-hosted files. Needs to work in a panels pane, play above the page (ala Thickbox) and I would prefer to have some good parameterized controls available. And ideally, I'd like to put the snapshot of videos in a carousel as well (including title).

I've seen some writeups for the Dash Player - looks like a lot of dependencies. I also saw that Lullabot is using Kaltura for their Do It in Drupal conference videos.

Whoops

Dylans tip for making feeds viewable was spot-on so I added a few more feeds successfully. In the process of doing that I have somehow locked myself out of administer settings?!? When I login it treats me as any other user and I dont see the admin menu set. Oh well, I have to go to work anyway! Any tips to give me back my power of admin would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, TS

a beginners question

Hello all and thanks to group members for welcoming me in when we met last Saturday at the Rose City Resource launch. I am slowly building my Drupal site and everything seems to be working fine except that certain block visibility issues are hanging me up. I am trying to plant the RSS Aggregator in a block on the front page and despite setting it up to view on all pages with title plus teaser I only see the chosen feeds (title only) in the selected block when I am signed on as admin. Anything obvious that I am missing? Thanks, TS

I need a Drupal tutor to barter for high-end digital video services or training

Hello all and thanks for being here as a resource. I am committed to learning the Drupal way of life based largely on the impressive community and events local & worldwide that I discovered here. I am a Portland film & video professional with 20 years exp. and my own editing and graphic workstations with the latest Avid MediaComposer Nitris DX, AdobeCS4 & Apple Final Cut Studio apps & hardware running on Intel Macs. I am launching a website using Drupal and need immediate guidance. I will trade training or production services for the same from a local Drupal site developer.

Carpooling to meetings from Corvallis?

I'm looking to get more involved with Drupal, I've tried to carpool with a friend to the Portland, Oregon Drupal Users Group meetings, but he's been unable to go, so I'm taking matters into my own hands. I'm a student at OSU and lack a car.

If anyone is going to any of the Drupal Users Group meetings from the Corvallis area and wouldn't mind swinging by campus before heading up to meetings, I'm more than happy to provide with help with gas money.

Thanks,

Nielsonm

Updating contributed modules

I needed to update a few modules (date, calendar, and views) from rc or dev versions to stable release. So all were minor upgrades within the same family of versions. I found very little documentation about this, and update.php said it was for Drupal upgrades. So after backing up my database, I simply replaced the code in sites/all/modules and then did an uninstall/install with devel.

Was this the right procedure?

contact form not sending email... did I miss something?

I have been tweaking, and testing and re-testing my site contact form for a few days now, and for some reason, no mail is being sent, I have done a lot of searching for an answer to why, but cannot find anything... Do I need to change some settings on my server to make that work? or should it just work "out of the box"? Any thoughts on what I am missing?

thanks,
Andy

I am hoping that some one here can help...

I need to implement a SOAP service and i cant seem to find any "how to". i see that there is a services module, and a soap server, and i understand the "normal" application of the simple object access protocol via php, java etc (building a custom site, no problems )... but how to go about implementing it in drupal 6 ?

please, please i need a hand, as there is NO documentation on this subject.

cheers,

Developing sites, and storing login credentials

Hi all,

I have a general question, as I set out to develop a few Drupal sites... (not totally Drupal related... but then again, maybe it could be?)

When developing multiple sites at once, I am running into an issue with two basic things:

  1. Generating unique user names and passwords for each site for various items such as root user, domain name registration account, etc... and
  2. a convenient and secure place to store this sensitive information, other than a hand written note :)
