Seattle

Welcome to the Seattle Users' Group!

The SEADUG meets regularly (at least once a month officially) to talk about Drupal, to plan Drupal events like Drupal Camp, and have some Drupal Fun. During SEADUG meetings we showcase modules and projects. Share tips and tricks and answer nagging questions about Drupal. We've discussed possible "barn raisings" for worthy organizations or code sprinting on modules.

This is a geographic Drupal User Group meant primarily for planning local Drupal related events and meetups, and supporting users locally.

PLEASE do not post job offers in this group unless they are local to Seattle. Any job posted to this group that is not in the Seattle/Puget Sound Metropolitan Area will be promptly removed.

If you are a consultant or vendor providing Drupal services in the Seattle/King County Metro Area ONLY, please add your name to this post.

Daytime meeting?

Would anyone be interested in an occasional daytime meeting? My schedule pretty much rules out evening meetings, but a lunchtime meeting would be great. I could probably host also, if people don't mind crossing the lake to downtown Bellevue - it's a short trip at lunchtime! But Seattle is fine too if we can find a location.

PNW PHP conference...

PNW PHP is officially raising money (via Kickstarter) to bootstrap their conference. So, in the spirit of gettin' off the island (as Larry Garfield has urged us to do), consider making a donation and/or even attending.

And don't be scared by the fact that the organizer sings at the end of the video -- he's got a good voice!

SeaDUG 2015 Plans

Thanks for opening up discussion about our 2015 plans at SeaDUG last night, Rick.

We threw out a lot of ideas as a group, and Rick you captured them in a local notes file, so this is just a stub to let you dump those notes here, and for any additional follow up.

Seeking Drupal tutor / consultant in Seattle

I'm looking for an experienced Drupal developer to provide about a half day of tutoring / consulting to help get me jumpstarted with an Acquia-hosted project.

I'm a PHP developer, and am new to Drupal, Acquia, and Git, and will figure those all out in due time, but would appreciate the assistance of someone experienced with these tools and environments to help me get things going initially, and provide advice in terms of efficient and effective workflow.

Drupal Dates off by timezone offset, after upgrading date module

Just a quick note of how we resolved an issue related to an upgrade to Date.

We recently updated Date in our core distribution to date-7.x-2.9-beta1 and on one site, we had a number of date fields set up as just "Date". After the update, the display of all of these ended up 7 - 8 hours off -- when you edit the node, it shows up with the correct time, and when you display the node, it's off by 8 hours.

8 hours happens to be our current timezone offset from UTC, and 7 hours is the offset during Daylight Savings Time, so this immediately made me think it was a timezone offset problem.
