Use multiple domain names in combination with multiple languages
Hello everyone!
I'm currently working on a site that uses multiple languages and for SEO purposes (and some other reasons) we want to use multiple domain names in combination with content translation
So we're talking about a SINGLE website and ONE database:
for an example www.dummydomain.com is supposed to point to the site in english
www.dummydomain.de points to the SAME site only in german
www.dummydomain.fr to the SAME site in french
Now I'm wondering what creative solutions you guys come up with to achieve this.

Hi there,
I'm attempting my first multi-site, single codebase drupal 6 installation using prefixed tables to share common data.
Background
Looking from the outside, I think the best way to explain my reasoning for this configuration is going to be module management, and to ease the development of the core facilities the site(s) will offer.
I'm attempting to split the rather large modules apart so I end up with subdomains offering the features the users require, here is the basic layout.

Adrian provides a potential solution for me to easily set up and host groups.mysite.com with his MultiDomain, UserDomains, and OGDomains modules. I believe this can help in the set up of community and social networking sites.
Here's a link to some basic info in which he describes the MultiDomain module and his plans for two closely-related follow-on modules.
I'm looking forward to testing the above modules. Thanks Adrian!!!

How do I set up "groups" on my web site?
Hi all,
I want to set up group subscriptions at subdomain groups.mysite.com while allowing the main part of my web site to offer basic info about my organization at mysite.com. A perfect example is groups.drupal.org and drupal.org.
So, I visited groups.drupal.org's About this site page and, under "Code", read that the groups.drupal.org site "runs a Drupal 4.7".
- Does this mean that groups.drupal.org has a separate Drupal 4.7 installation from drupal.org? In other words, do I need two (2) uploads of Drupal 4.7 to my web server, that is, one 4.7 installation for OG running at subdomain groups.mysite.com and another 4.7 installation for the main site mysite.com?
