OpenMagazine anyone: or collaboration/multisite for journals

Hi all,

Anyone up for a collaboration to build a multisite for small- to mid-sized journals?

Let me explain.

OP2 did a marvelous job for me way back. I showed the possibilities and what one can achieve with Drupal. In my case this resulted in a website that has a complete archive of a literature journal, with author-controlled biographies, blogs, events... and hopefully soon an e-shop (cf. Ubercard), mobile webapp (cf. Services), metadata-standards based exports (MarcXML, MODS), archival/preservation (cf. exports to Internet archive)...

Multisites – sharing data - need advice

I have multisites working. Now I think want to share data. The reason I may want to share data is that I would like to market products to all the users of these sites. Note that each site has its own brand and each have unique features (different data, different modules, etc.). There are only a few things that I would like to share.

These may be either:

1) Users so that I can send everyone emails from one core site,
2) or a shop catalog that sells a common set of products.

Can Aegir Manage Sites on Remote Servers?

Hi Everyone,

I've been reading a lot about Aegir lately, and I find it just a great tool which would save so much administration time. However, I still can't find a clear answer as to whether Aegir can administer remote sites as well. I have 6 different shared hosting accounts on different hosting companies all Drupal based. Now, can I use Aegir to administer the sites on all these hosting accounts? I get a feeling from documentation that Aegir can only manage Drupal installations which are local.

Multisite Newbie

Hey all,

Great group new to drupal. I am doing my first drupal site for our K-12 district and will be converting over 12 sites from Word HTML (I know, it was before me) to Drupal. Nothing like taking on a small project for the first one. Our district site is up and now I am working on our 7 elementary buildings. I would like the primary nav bar to be the primary nav for all of the sites, but dont necessarily want to maintain 12 menus. Is there anyway to do this with Drupal multisites other than use full path on the subsequent sites.
