Counceling wanted: Social Network dedicated to sustainable settlements
I'm part of the IT Team of GEN (Global Ecovillage Network) and actually working on a Drupal platform which will be used by CASA (American Councel of Sustainable Settlements) and RIE (Iberian Network of Ecovillages). In the future more affiliated networks might join and thematic sites about related subjects (permaculture, green building, etc.) might get integrated.

There is a clear, clear need for a certain kind of community web application, but so far, it hasn't been well articulated. Because the communities that need it aren't investing in web technologies, for various reason, the commercial sphere isn't addressing this need at all.
The needs this group is trying to address are in no way specific to transition towns.

I realise I have never formally introduced myself and yet joined this group about six months ago. Great work you are doing here and having TransitioDrupal.org linked is fantastic. At my first drupal camp in Ireland, I was struck with the similarity in the folk, sharing a real sense of community.
I co-moderate a 600 member strong ning site which we want to migrate to a drupal site, its our all island network site for Transition Ireland and Northern Ireland http://transitiontownsireland.ning.com/.

It's been awhile since I was in communication with this group - but that doesn't mean I'm not interested in the project, I've just been very very busy. I put together a site with organic groups for Transition Silicon Valley, but the team hasn't adopted using it yet. Meaning I don't know whether the configuration I created will work in practice. Recently I've been using an OpenAtrium site because I write for examiner.com and part of the examiner 2.0 transition is to set up an OpenAtrium site as a private community for Examiners to chat with each other.

Hi all, I'm hoping this will be of interest to you all.
I've just uploaded my wireframes/design visuals for our new Kensal to Kilburn website which we're developing on Drupal:
http://chriswells.me.uk/2010/04/29/design-visuals-for-kensal-to-kilburns...
I'm planning a fairly flexible theme which could hopefully be used by many TTs. It will feature multiple regions, be based on Fusion (or possibly Zen) and I'm also hoping to integrate Colour Module Next Generation to allow adjustable colour schemes.

I'd like to meet other Transitioners who are also attending DrupalCon SF...I was thinking of creating a BOF or we could just meet for drinks somewhere.
Any interest?
