Getting ready to help out with Migrate in Core!
So, you want to help test Migrate in Core? Excellent. We're currently focusing our efforts on ensuring that Drupal 6 sites (core configuration, content, and standard CCK fields) can be migrated cleanly into Drupal 8 via the Migrate Drupal module (/core/modules/migrate_drupal). Drupal 6 data that does not fall into one of these three categories (including Views and other contrib module configuration and data) is not part of this effort.
First, some background information:
Read moreMigration from Open Atrium 1 to Open Atrium 2
Hello everyone, I'm working in a University running Open Atrium 1 as the intranet platform for the college, we are planning to migrate from Open Atrium 1 to Open Atrium 2. our main concern is that is it possible to migrate the users, posts (with linked contents) and ideally pages (notebooks) ? what are the possible methods to achieve that, we are willing to try any method or whether there is a plug-in to achieve this task.
Thank you in advance for your support.

Hola a tod@s!
Site state / upgrade "Standby" module
The point of this "Standby" module - the solution I think people are after - is the ability to update code and files of an existing site without taking the site off-line - permitting WSoD on a live server, allowing for crudely implemented updates, and providing a deployment process for new modules.
Read moreWhat's your process for change management for migration of very large drupal installations?
Hello everyone,
I have been "messing" with drupal for a while now, and have now taken my first job as a 100% committed Drupal developer & tech lead for a company that builds massive websites for large federal initiatives that involve dense structures, complex role management schemes, and mountains of content (often 10,000+ nodes).
So, one of my first tasks as we get started is to work with the site building team and sys admins to create a solid process for performing migrations from dev >>> staging, sometimes staging >>> dev, and, of course, the eventual staging >>> production.
Read moreMigrating data to CCK field in D6
Hoping someone might be able to advise. I'm trying to migrate data from an old site across to my drupal site. Ive pulled the data out from Access (dont ask) and now have it sitting in the drupal mysql database. Ive used table wizard to draw the data out and check it via a view which works nicely however when trying to use Migrate Ive now come un-stuck due to the change to Migrate V2 which has no UI (certainly not for drupal 6 anyway). Im just not upto the level of being able to use migrate v2 comfortably and was hoping someone might be able to point me in a new direction?
Read moreDrupal event in Switzerland?
I'm visiting Switzerland during May 26th to June 1st, and am wondering if there is a Drupal Camp or similar event happening in the country. I'm the CTO at www.srijan.in and have led large implementations such as www.mnn.com and www.openthemagazine.com.
I'd like to make a presentation on TYPO3 to Drupal migrations - which is one of our key service areas. You may like to see a case study on the same at: http://www.srijan.in/blog/typo3-drupal-migration-knr-case-study and the module we wrote for enabling such a migration at: http://drupal.org/project/TYPO3_migrate
Read moremigrate sites from CVS to GIT
git has replaced cvs as the version control system for drupal. -
There is a number of articles on to how handle git
but they don't really address the needs of site maintainers.
I am aware that this is a developers' group but since I found no better place to turn to...
... let me git it a try, anyway.
I have found no article specifically dealing with the needs of drupal admins
when having to MOVE FROM CVS TO GIT ON PRODUCTIVE SITES.
Let me ask a couple of questions as a site admin on Linux systems
on what to do in order to successfully move to git.
--> Actually I am going to tell you how I used to do things via cvs
hoping to get hands-on tips on how to do them via git.
