Read moreMany parent groups vs node-references
Is it better to have many levels of parent groups or just node references?
Given the following scenario:
Vendors
|__ Products
|__ Clients
|__ Wish lists
It's easy to see that Vendor is the group, Products and Clients are that groups content, and Wish lists can be content of the Clients, which means that they would be "Group/Group Content"

Add content created by user number 1 to a group the user is not part of
I'm new with Organic Groups. I'm using Drupal 7 and organic group 7.1.
I would like to allow the owner/administrator of a group to add contents created by authenticated users to his own group.
For example if I have a group called "Black and white movies" and i see an article that is part of a group called "Movies of 1930", I would like to be able to add this article to my group.
Is it possible?
Thanks for the help!
Read moreOA2 and OG Menus -- Limits?
I noticed that for OA2, organic groups adds each user-created space to the OG menu and gives them weights, -50 to 50. After 101 groups, does this become a problem? If I were to have a site that had over 1000 spaces (groups), how would this work?
Thanks!
EntityMetadataWrapperException: Unknown data property og_group_ref.
Hi,
I am using Open Scholar. I created a content type called "Project" which has a field called "Team Members". This field is an entity reference to the "Person" content type. Rest of the fields in "Project" are text fields. While saving the content created based on "Project" content type, I get the following exception message
Notice: Undefined index: entity keys in entity_views_field_definition() (line 196 of .../profiles/openscholar/modules/contrib/entity/views/entity.views.inc).
Display OG view with users and nodes from membership for group members
To keep it simple my goal is to create a view that displays OG user roles and the nid of the nodes the users have posted in the group.
I have successfully created a view with users and nodes from membership doing:
- Add new view -> Create a page displaying table of fields
- Add contextual filter -> OG membership: Group ID
- Add relationship -> OG membership: Node from OG membership
- Add relationship -> OG membership: User from OG membership
- Add field -> OG membership: OG user roles in group (Roles)
- Add field -> (node from OG membership) Content: Nid (Nid)
Advice on using Organic Groups for course management in an academic context
I am thinking about using Organic Groups for course management in an academic context.
Initially I was going to create an OG group per course e.g. Physics 101. However if the users change per semester this could become tricky to manage...
There are 2 options I can think of:

ol>
- But would soon end up with 1000’s of groups.
