Using Commons for Collaborative Blogging Platform

After nearly a year of research into collaboration tools, the release of Drupal Commons for D7 brought all the pieces together for our project in a an unexpected way. The project is entered in the Knight News Challenge. Please head over to http://kng.ht/15XiUJN to add your feedback or applaud the project so we can get BLDG20 made and contributed back to the Drupal Community.

Anpassa menyn i OG

Displaying group fields with a view embedded in a panel

Hi Folks,

Apologies if this is not the right place to post. Please let me know where to go.

I run an organization across university campuses with local groups on each campus and I'm developing a drupal site with organic groups to connect everybody together. Using D7, OG7, and Views 3.

Each campus is an OG group and has their own page. On each page, there will be a fixed header with information about the university, e.g. photo, motto, location, etc., and then group related content, e.g. articles, events, member list, etc.

Redirect top level domain alias to specific og group node

I have my main site (alpha.com) that has a number of organic groups. I'd like to create a top level domain name (beta.com) that gets directed to a specific organic group group content type page (alpha.com/node/10). It would be really great if the URL to showed "beta.com" for any page/content within the "beta group" but switched to "alpha.com" for anything outside of the beta group content. Is this possible?

I tried redirecting through htaccess file but (1) I get thrown into a loop (beta.com/node/10/node/10...) and (2) I found out that this won't work with my host because they use nginx.

Content assigned to multiple groups won't appear under organic groups home tab

Hi all,

While creating a new blog node in Drupal commons, I assign two organic groups to it. While it appears under both groups' Blog tab (view group_tab_blogs), it only appears under one group's Home tab (view activity_log_stream).

Any suggestions?

Creating a view of all content in a nested group hierarchy

Hi,

I have a structure of nested groups that each have different content attached to them, and would like to create a view that shows all content of the selected group and the content in it's child groups.

I use og_subgroups to propagate permissions trough the structure but can't seem to find a way to create the view.. Is this possible with Organic groups, or do i have to write a module myself that provides this feature.

I would by the way need the same feature for members of the groups and sub groups.

Building Create Content Links with Views and Panels

My challenge for the day is to add a "Create Content" link to each page for those that have permission to create pages. This sounds simple enough. However, this is an intranet site built with Organic Groups, which has presented some challenges.

For starters, being an intranet means everyone accessing the site in logged in and needs to adherer to an array of roles and permissions. We use Organic Groups to manages groups (departments) within the site. The site then relies heavily on views and panels to structure the site.

We're using:
Drupal 7.14
Panels 7.x-3.2
Views 7.x-3.3
