This month we are lucky to have two speakers previewing their presentations for the upcoming DrupalGov conference. Jibran will discuss post_update hooks. Arijit will also look at Conversational Forms and how Drupal forms can be converted to this new interface.

Kick off 2017 with a good variety of Drupal presentations covering Drupal 8 media management, analytics, accessibility and how to build a Display Suite plugin.

I am running a Drupal intro session for a couple of my friends in Sydney.

Introduction of Drupal to non-techies and beginners

Content:
I will introduce Drupal and explain how it could be used as a web application builder.

The audience could be:
- Businesses with online presence or online workflow
- Community managers
- Students
- Drupal Beginners

After the theory bit, you get to build your own web application if you have brought your computer!

The penultimate meetup for the year and the final one before the end of year party. There will be presentations on testing, reflections on Drupal 8 and a Q&A session. Bring your questions along!

There will be two presentations at the Sydney Meetup this month. First up Matt will look at Drupal 8 theming with Classy and how it works with HTTP/2. Boris will then give us some keen insights on leveraging Drupal and Ember for best results.

Another cracker of a month for presentations. This month we have a look at an exciting new module which promises to be a very heavily used module in the future: YAML Form. There will also be an examination for core themes and how they can be used with modern frontend development workflows. Finally we will see a Twitter clone in 5 minutes apparently.

Time for a pub meetup. Eduardo García, the maintainer of Drupal Console, will be in Sydney and wanted to meetup with the Sydney community. He has offered to present on the Drupal Console and then chat about community and other matters over beers. Sounds like a plan.
