Car pool/Bum a ride.

I live in the commerce, mi area and was wondering if anyone lives around this area that I can car pool with to the meetings. I have a 1980 CJ-7 Jeep so it's not very trustworthy for driving for distances. I would be willing to pay for gas, it's just I don't want to drive down there and have my jeep crap out on me.

Allowing each organic group to provide its own domain or subdomain

Adrian provides a potential solution for me to easily set up and host groups.mysite.com with his MultiDomain, UserDomains, and OGDomains modules. I believe this can help in the set up of community and social networking sites.

Here's a link to some basic info in which he describes the MultiDomain module and his plans for two closely-related follow-on modules.

I'm looking forward to testing the above modules. Thanks Adrian!!!

How do I set up "groups" on my web site?

Hi all,

I want to set up group subscriptions at subdomain groups.mysite.com while allowing the main part of my web site to offer basic info about my organization at mysite.com. A perfect example is groups.drupal.org and drupal.org.

So, I visited groups.drupal.org's About this site page and, under "Code", read that the groups.drupal.org site "runs a Drupal 4.7".

  1. Does this mean that groups.drupal.org has a separate Drupal 4.7 installation from drupal.org? In other words, do I need two (2) uploads of Drupal 4.7 to my web server, that is, one 4.7 installation for OG running at subdomain groups.mysite.com and another 4.7 installation for the main site mysite.com?

Using Organic Groups for a scouting site?

Hi, I'm going to turn this into a bit of a support forum, so let me know if I should take this question back to, say, the support forums :-)

My scouting site, under development, is:
http://www.pqpack621.org.

I'd love to get a sense of what works for the other scouting sites out there.

I'm new to Drupal, and I came to it in the middle of setting up a site for my son's Cub Scout pack. I'm hoping that each of the den leaders will be able to post their meeting and event announcements. I'm gradually adding in modules that I think I'll need.

the question:
I'd like the dens to be able to see their own events, but also be able to see the pack-wide events. I was planning to build some filters onto the individual Den pages so that the event listings would have the right stuff. But it sounds like Organic Groups handles some of that.
