Hierarchical corporate structure for an intranet
We are building our new intranet on Drupal. We are a group of companies, i.e. our organizational structure consists of sub-companies, which again have sub-companies or departments, which also can have sub-departments and/or employees belonging to them. We need to have this organizational structure in our Drupal-based intranet system, both:
1) in terms of content: displaying the corporate structure as a hierarchical list of companies, sub-companies, departments; displaying employee listings per company and department;

Hi everyone,
My company is in the process of choosing a solution for replatforming our main site, which is going to be a pretty big project. We're using Drupal for a smaller, simpler publishing site, and Drupal is now on the table for the main site. Some of the other stakeholders have asked what I think is a perfectly valid question that I don't have a ready answer for, so I'm hoping some of you can help me with this one: Are there any medium- to large-sized businesses using Drupal for their main revenue-producing sites?

I am currently trying to convince the bigwigs at my company that Drupal is the way to go to provide us with a CMS solution for our clients' sites. We set up new sites for clients all the time and manage and host them. Right now we are running on IIS utilizing a CMS written in classic ASP that cost the company some umpteen gaziliions of dollars to make.
