On October 18th, 2007, Chad (hummonk) Phillips made an initial commit to the ‘Project Issue File Test’ module, with the description “initial commit of an integrated file testing platform for project issue module”. This kicked off the pursuit of automated testing integration between drupal.org and qa.d.o (then referred to as test.drupal.org). In 2009, Jimmy (boombatower) Berry performed a significant overhaul and redesign of the system, introducing a number of structural and architectural changes.

What's your idea?

To show the worls that Drupal 8 is the best there is, we should switch as soon as possible, preferably before Drupal 8 is released.

What are the benefits?

Show everybody that Drupal 8 is a good and flexible system. "Eat your own dog food"

What are the risks?

Probably lack of resources

I think we should aim to AJAXify as many form submissions as possible. Right now Drupal.org has some great functionality, but not so much in interactivity. The Form API provides an excellent AJAX framework that can be used to AJAXify pretty much every form on the system.

What are the benefits?

Improved user experience, less load on the server due to less full page loads, and a better example of what is possible with Drupal.

What are the risks?

I can't think of any. Maybe someone else can.

Redesign drupal.org's theme to be more modern and cater to mobile devices.

What are the benefits?

Drupal.org becomes responsive out of the box with an opportunity to 'refresh' the way the website looks. Perhaps a 'flat design' or some friendlier UI re-arranging. Most developers don't seem to care, but a fresh face could attract new people and make Drupal more appealing by showcasing how beautiful a theme can be in Drupal. It would be a good opportunity to put a new face out before Drupal 8 is released.

What's your idea?

Automated system which suggest already existing similar posts when you are entering the title of new post. An alternate approach would be to improve Drupal.org search so that people could find related posts before creating a new one.

What are the benefits?

There are lots of duplicates everywhere: issue queues, forums. This will be a huge improvement and also a must-have for dedicated support system if we were to create one on Drupal.org

Add possibility to write a review about project (module/theme) on Drupal.org. Add possibility to rate projects and to filter projects by rating/number of reviews.

Drupal.org has huge number of modules and themes available for download, often it is hard to choose which ones of them to use when building Drupal site.

The goal is to help site builders determine quality of projects on drupal.org site by adding various indicators to project (module/theme) pages.
