Time Banking

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

Time banking is an alternative currency system that uses units of time as currency. This group is dedicated to Drupal-based time banking software, including Community Weaver and the Time Machine installation profile, and to discussing practices for using Drupal to manage time dollars or time credits.

Is Community Weaver a proprietary system?

Dear people,
I consider using Drupal because my search engine pointed to this group. I am new to Drupal.

I have had quick looks to Timemachine and Community Weaver in the description of this group.
Last release of Timemachine seems to be in 2011. Is it still alive?
Community Weaver link points to an external site rather than a Drupal project. When I tried to find the tech. via builtwith, it showed no Drupal. Is it still a Drupal-based project? Is it an open source project or a prorpetary one?

Thanks in advance for any help!
Best regards.

IntegralCES wants to be a D7 full project.

Hi Time Banking group,
We have been developing integralCES, a suite of Drupal modules featuring social currencies management for communities. After some years of developing and setting up a production site with few thousands of users in Catalonia and Spain, we think it's mature enough to jump from an experimental sandbox to a drupal full project, in order to facilitate the installation and to share with any community who is looking for such a software.

Project aplication: https://www.drupal.org/node/2267557
Sandbox: https://www.drupal.org/sandbox/esteve/1367140

Looking for overview, comments, warnings, and suggestions for timebank and community drupal setups

If anyone is watching, I'm looking for use examples, experiences, and reviews for timebanking installations and anything related to hours and using drupal for local community development and services.

Community forge just released their new Hamlet distro, I am installing it now to take a look. i am guessing, based on the size, that it is the stripped down variation they have been describing in a webpage, dru7 and community accounting basically.

TimeBank Intertrading

The ability for members of one TimeBank to trade services directly with a member of another TimeBank is desired by some in the TimeBanking community.

The technical challenges of intertrading are the different software platforms and different service descriptions (taxonomy) in use between TimeBanks, including TimeBanks using the same S/W platform. For example, Community Weaver (TimeBanks USA) and Time & Talents (hOurworld) are based on different S/W, different database structures, and use different service category naming conventions.

Time Banking/LETS projects with Drupal Commerce

Does anyone have experience, examples or tips for building time banking systems with drupal commerce? I'd prefer to use something more flexible/stable than the mutual credit module. Anyone have any creative ideas?

Omnui.com - Facebook connected time banking

Omnui.com is a new Facebook connected time banking concept that can be used anywhere in the world.

How does it work?

You sign in using Facebook.
When you first sign up your time balance is zero - it's okay for your balance to go below zero, just not below -50 hours.
You can send time to people who have helped you or request time from people you have helped.
Your profile keeps track of your balance and the transactions you have had with others.
The total balance in the system is always zero because if someone receives some time, someone elses time is reduced.

Picture Carousel Problem

I'm stumped trying to put our TimeBank event pictures into a picture carousel on our welcome page.

I found that Rotor Banner allows for multiple images and/or ad text to be displayed one at a time in a single window (block) and you can apply different transition effects and timings to the rotating displays. I downloaded and installed the Drupal Rotor Banner module (6.x-2.8) and its dependent modules.

Barn Raising and Code Sprint for the Echo Park and Arroyo S.E.C.O. Time Banks at Droplabs on August 17 & 18, 2012

Start:
2012-08-17 19:00 - 2012-08-18 14:00 America/Los_Angeles
Event type:
Sprint

Join us at Droplabs on Saturday, August 18, 2012, for a Barn Raising and Code Sprint to benefit the Arroyo SECO Network of Time Banks! We are also having an open meeting of the Time Bank Tech Team the evening before on Friday, August 17, 2012 that you are welcome to attend.

There's something for everyone at this event. If you're interested in learning more about Drupal and getting some practical hands-on experience, or if you're a Drupal power user and would like to help mentor others into using Drupal's best practices for site development, this is an excellent opportunity.

The Arroyo SECO Network of Time Banks is a non-profit community collective with a mission to facilitate the cooperative exchange of goods and services among its members. Since September 2011, the Arroyo SECO Network of Time Banks has been using Drupal to manage their community website at http://arroyoseco.timebanks.org and its currency system.

At this barn raising, we'll be improving Community Weaver and creating features. The work we do will be shared with TimeBanks USA, which will directly benefit the 400+ time banks that have their own sites that use the same Drupal distribution.

This is our third barn raising for the time bank. See http://ex.tl/ZTT for more information about our previous barn raising and code sprint.

Getting secured data out of CW2

I had an idea months ago to develop an Android app that would read the various RSS feeds that are generated by Community Weaver 2. So, I took a class to learn how to build an app. Then, I thought it would be easy to read an RSS feed generated by CW2, but they are private feeds.

Then I found out about Tokens and installed that module, got my token, formulated the url, but am still not able to read the feed.
