User group meeting

This month we'll have introductions & announcements followed by a short presentation on the new Organic Groups 7x-2.0 (in beta). It'll be an intro/overview plus some Q&A. Then we'll quickly jump into how to contribute to Drupal.

Join us 7p in Long Beach (map) or meet us online in our google+ hangout.

About this Meetup

The 4th Monday of every month we contribute to Drupal to coincide with core office hours. (darn Drupal Camp, summer vacations, and holiday weekends keep messing with our schedule... this month we're meeting a so late its the next month already ... and Tuesday). We're shooting for also meeting again 9/24.

During each meetup we focus on testing, creating patches, or finding ways to help and contribute to Drupal. Want to help? Can't code? no problem. There truly is something for everyone. We'll teach you.

The agenda is simple. Show up, bring a smile, and be prepared to work... and have fun. Optionally, post link(s) to issues youd like to work on in the comments below. Otherwise, we'll get started on novice issues together.

We'll breakoout into groups. Typically 2-5 people per group working on a single issue. If you have a Mac with an Apple proprietary video connector, please bring a dongle so you can share video using VGA or HDMI.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it out to this meetup as I am busy that evening. Hopefully though, I can help with whatever comes out of this meetup the following day and I should def. be able to join on the 4th Monday.

I will be there Tuesday evening

I also won't be able to make

I also won't be able to make it out to this meetup. The High Performance Drupal meetup in Downtown Los Angeles is already scheduled for the same time and I'll be there instead:

For the record, I don't think there's really any competition between these two meetups. Many people don't know this, but the Downtown Los Angeles Drupal group is a separate user group with its own meetups:

I trust that so long as everyone has accurate and relevant information, Drupaleros will go to the meetups that are geographically convenient for them, have topics they're interested in and are fun and well-organized.

To the point of everyone having accurate information, I requested several months ago that the list of meetups and groups at http://groups.drupal.org/la/events be brought up to date:

   http://groups.drupal.org/node/237108

Due to lack of activity on the topic, I started a wiki page that makes it easier for everyone — organizers as well as members — to find meetups and groups in the area, and update that information as locations and schedules change:
