COMING SOON, Acquia Certified Developer Examination and Boot Camp
The Acquia Certified Professional program is the first program in the industry providing systematic, objective assessment to validate the skills and knowledge of Drupal developers, and is poised to become the gold standard for all those designing with Drupal. Comprised of 60 questions, the exam covers Fundamental Web Development Concepts, Site Building, Front End Development (theming), and Back End Development (coding).

We're organizing an intro Drupal training in Toronto on August 25th. It'll be at the Centre for Social Innovation in the Annex. If you know anyone who wants to get into Drupal, please spread the word.
The course will cover the fundamentals of Drupal. Whether you're a developer using Drupal for the first time, an editor looking for an introduction to Drupal content administration, or a site builder wanting to know how to structure a Drupal website, this course will get you started on the right foot.

Enviro Commons (prototype built with Drupal 6) is a national platform to address the climate crisis by working together. With tools and functionality on 4 Dashboards - for individuals, business, non-profits and governments - the platform is designed as a network solution to address the barriers local and small initiatives cannot. The climate crisis is a big problem that requires a big solution. Here are some examples of existing functionality of the platform:
- The sense of powerlessness to impact and to influence governments, businesses and each other is addressed.
Hamilton/Niagara Drupal Summer Meetup
Summer meetups are a lot of fun. We'll be meeting this time at the newly opened Cowork Niagara. (Location map available at the FB page)
We'll have two topics:
- Chris Luckhardt will give an overview of what's coming in Drupal 8.
- Adam White will talk about some recent work he's been doing with Drupal Commerce and best practices he's found in that space.
After the event, we'll share with you some of the great local food and beverages for which Niagara is becoming internationally known.

Meeting Summary
Despite announcing the meetup on the same day as the event, we had a great meetup with 8 in attendance. We did a deep dive into Dries' DrupalCon Austin keynote, discussing the potential benefits of Drupal 8, with a big focus on the object-oriented programming that will be available.
We also discussed theming in some detail, including the responsiveness of D8 out of the box and digressed into a discussion about SASS tools (and the Foundation theme).
After 9pm, we went to Pauper's Pub to have a few pints.
