Toronto June Meetup
Sorry for the late notice folks, but we will be getting together tomorrow night at the Linuxcaffe. There is no fixed agenda for this month, but come on out, meet some new local drupal folks - interesting discussion is bound to ensue.
Potential topics include: Upcoming stuff in Drupal 6, "best of" DrupaCampTorontoII, and the ever popular CCK & Views :)
Time: 6:30 - 8:30 pm Tuesday, June 12th
Location: LinuxCaffe 326 Harbord St. [map]
Hey, Canadians! Internationalization patches for Drupal 6 need review!
Since I know internationalization is a big deal to Canadians, I figured I'd cross-post this to some groups. Please don't kill me, this is important. :) There's very little time to get these patches in before code freeze! (June 1)
The following patches desperately need reviews from people familiar with internationalization of site content. The goal is to get Drupal 6 to have internationalization right in core:

- translation of site settings, content types, user profile fields
and so on by storing translations of their string properties with
Drupal Camp Toronto 2007 - Day 1
I'm really happy with how the first day of Drupal Camp went and am really looking forward to tomorrow's sessions. I've posted my notes of the three sessions I attended, and plan to do the same tomorrow. Well done, both presenters and hosts, you're doing a great job!
Read morecommunity.civicrm.ca directory
I registered civicrm.ca some time ago because it was available, and have just gotten around to setting up a basic 5.1 install with the links module on the community subdomain with the goal of having a directory of Canadian organization installs of Civicrm.
So - if you are a developer or site administrator of a Canadian organization using civicrm - please add yourself to the directory! I've left the registration open for now, but I'll probably have to moderate it when the new breed of drupal comment spammers discover me.

I'm planning to organize some Civicrm sessions at the upcoming drupalcamp in toronto http://drupalcamptoronto.org/
I'm noticing that the civicanada group (http://groups.drupal.org/civicanada where i'm posting this), which I setup after an ad hoc session on civicrm at the last toronto drupal camp, is pretty defunct. I'm hoping that's due to a lack of leadership on my part rather than a lack of interest in the topic. In any case, if you're interested in helping out, or have some input into the content of such a session, let me know.

Back by popular demand (following last month's presentation), this month we'll get hands-on, down and dirty with CCK & Views and see how to whip together some powerful drupal magic in a few short hours. We'll also be hoping for sunshine to come and melt away the snow.
We'll also be discussing the upcoming DrupalCampToronto - so if you're interested in helping to organize, please show up early (around 5:30).

Presentation: Building Drupal web sites using CCK, Views and Panels
Thanks for everyone who turned up at the Tuesday DUG-TO meeting.
Apologies for the equipment malfunction that prevented me from showing more hands on details.
Thanks again to Reg. Charney of HiTechHub for the use of his laptop to get this going.
I will try to write an article on how to create a custom panel in the near future.
As for the presentation, you can get a copy of the presentation here.
Be sure to check the links and resources towards the end.

Join us this month for a presentation by Khalid Baheyeldin of 2bits on how to use CCK, Views and Panels together for fun and profit. These 3 modules can be used together to add a ton of functionality to your site without a single line of code. Come have a coffee (or a hot chocolate!) at the Linuxcaffe and help spread the local drupal love.
Note: we're meeting on the 2nd Tuesday and at 6:30 instead of 6 (to give our out of towners some extra time to get into the city).
