Welcome to the Groups site for the Denver/Boulder Drupal Users Group, where we discuss, share and find ways to provide local face-to-face interaction which can support activities like hosting speakers, providing tutorials, Question and Answer sessions, establishing relationships with others in the geographic area, and generally expand the community of Drupal users.
Schedule of meetings
- Boulder meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Locations vary.
- Central Denver meetings on the 4th Tuesday of each month at Open Media Foundation (Map).
- South Denver meetings are on the 2nd Monday of each month at Innovation Pavilion (Map).
- Colorado Springs meetings are on the 1st Wednesday of each month. See the SCUG Group Page.
- Carbondale/Western Slope meetings are on the 3rd Tuesday each month, see the Western Colorado group for more info.
- Northern Colorado (Fort Collins/Greeley) meetings are on the 4th Monday, see the Northern Colorado group for more info.
Other ways to connect: The #drupal-colorado irc channel generally has many folks in it, happy to help with Drupal problems.
While the group is primarily focused on Denver/Boulder, people in Fort Collins, Lyons, the mountains, the Western Slope or the plains are certainly welcome. Heck, we've even had folks from Wyoming and other surrounding states come by.
Discussions and wikis
DrupalCon Baltimore is upon us. Like right now, this very moment. Developers and designers and managers from all over the world are gathered to learn about and improve on Drupal. And we're here in Denver away from the fun *sad face emoji*.
While we may not be able to attend the amazing after parties or get a fresh new collection of stickers for our laptops, we still have access to the wave of knowledge coming out of Baltimore this year. Keynotes and sessions are recorded and posted, so let's take advantage of that.Read more
With DrupalCon quickly approaching, we are lucky to get a sneak peak at one of the many great sessions that will be discussed.

With the switch to OOP and the inclusion of many parts of the Symfony framework, Drupal 8 has (finally) moved into the modern era of web development best practices. Together with Marc Issacson (vegantriathlete), let's have a look at how some of those best practices are being put to use within Drupal 8.Read more
Can anyone recommend a developer who could migrate a site from HTML into Drupal 7, probably before the end of the year? I don't yet have a formal RFP or job to offer, but would like to have a couple potential contractors to contact to see what they think the job might take.

This month we are excited to have Neil Cousineau joining us to talk about access control. Access control is a vital part of any website as it determines which users can do what actions. It also allows you to hide certain data from users who are not allowed to view it.
Getting this setup correctly can be a tricky venture. Neil has quite a bit of experience with this at E Source and he's going to give us some tips on how to get this done correctly to ensure your secrets aren't leaking out.
As always, there will be great food and beer available for all.Read more
A new year is upon us, let's start it off right. This month we'll have an open discussion about the next year of the Central DBUG. This is your chance to help shape our meetups, and voice ways to make them more valuable to the community. What topics would it be good to hear about for Drupal in 2017? For the internet and technology as a whole? Do you have something you've been itching to talk about? What things worked, and what could have been done better last year? How are you liking the pizza orders? We want to hear from you, so bring your thoughts.Read more
Last month there was a brief discussion about what we should do for this month's meetup. Since it would fall a couple days before Thanksgiving, I've heard suggestions for "Drupal Games" or a "Drupal Iron Chef" night. Are there any other ideas for a lighter meetup that anyone wants to suggest?Read more
This month we'll be doing an Agile round-table discussion. Prepare for an open conversation about the things we're doing that's working, or things we've tried that isn't working. Are there parts of Agile that you find impossible to do, or parts that are indispensable to your team's success?
Should time permit, we'll close with a brief show and tell. Bring any tools or modules you think someone should know about, and be ready to talk about them for about five minutes!
