We see it as our mission:
1. To bring together all those people who are interested in Drupal and who live in and around and/or work in the capital of Italy, Rome (although we do not restrict ourselves to Rome),
2. To help individuals, organizations and companies in their need for responsive web 2.0 web sites.
We organize meetings on a regular basis in order to get to know each other, exchange experiences, deepen our knowledge, provide help if necessary and create a community of Drupal lovers.
In doing so, we create a 'center of excellence', a knowledge-base regarding Drupal, and both individual group members can be approached to provide advice, a second opinion, or act as consultant to help clients as well as a group we can be called upon to provide a 'total web solution' for organizations and companies. We also provide presentations and organize training sessions about Drupal for interested organizations.

Creation of a Rome based Drupal Information & Expertise Center, Italy.
Dear Drupalista,
I want to create a Drupal Information & Expertise Center, Italy (DIECI) that will provide information regarding Drupal (e.g. to the Press or give presentations to Chamber of Commerce members), as well as expert advice, consulting services, and website and intranet products to the UN, small and medium (Italian) enterprises, and not-for-profit organizations and NGO's.
Are you interested to become part of this initiative, either as a full fledged team member, otherwise as part of the consultants network?

Meeting Drupalistas on Wednesday 13 June
The first meeting for the Drupalistas in Rome.
Main topic is to get to know each other and maybe to discuss what other interesting items we can put on the table for other meetings.
The meeting is in room A-201 bis in FAO, Wednesday 13 June, from 16.00 to 17.00 hours.
If there is anyone who doesn't work in FAO (or other UN organization), please send me your full first and last name so that I can forward your data to security and they will let you in.
Hope to see all of you,
Eljay Bos

Is Dries Buytaert coming to Rome?
Since the founding of Drupalistas in Rome, I've met 4 people that work with Drupal. They all work in FAO. I also heard about the possibility of a Drupal product presentation on July 5th in FAO, and that talks are being held with Dries to come to Rome and give a presentation.
All in all very exciting news, and I want to try to organize a member meeting within the next 14 days. As soon as I have a meeting room (probably in the FAO library, otherwise in room A201 bis) I will create an event.
See you soon,
Eljay
Read moreAgenda suggestions for meetings
Personally I feel a need to meet Drupal colleagues to share information, discuss problems and listen to solutions for all aspects of Drupal.
It could also be quite a learning moment to invite speakers who have extensive Drupal experience, e.g. someone like Pierre Guillaume Wielezynski, who leads the WFP Web Team.
Anyone with any other suggestions? Please let us know so we can make some kind of planning, invite speakers and prepare the first meeting.
Eljay
