Drupal and MySQL 5.5
Hi folks,
Oracle has announced the MySQL 5.5 release candidate. They claim the following performance gain:
- On Windows: up to 1,500 percent performance gains for Read/Write operations, and up to 500 percent gain for Read Only(1).
- On Linux: up to 360 percent performance gain in Read/Write operations and up to 200 percent improvement in Read Only(2).
(1) SysBench benchmark of MySQL 5.5.6 vs. MySQL 5.1.50 performed on Intel x86_64; 4 CPU x 2 Cores/CPU; 3.166 GHz, 8GB RAM; Windows Server 2008.

I`m trying to upgrade our hotel booking site. Each hotel has several characteristics, so I put them in integer CCK fields. After that I created a view with about 30 exposed filters according all the hotel fields.
After I put the site live (~1500 visitors per day), the mysql server went down almost immediately. The problem is crazy sql queries that views module makes. For example, http://pastebin.com/gxNTzwuR . It`s the real user query I`ve took from the query log.
I`ve added indexes to all that 'content_field_xxx' tables (field_xxx_value) - still no luck.
APC + MultiSite - Looking for Configuration Help
I have a dedicated server currently hosting more than a dozen sites running from a single install of drupal (MultiSite).
I have installed APC on the server to attempt to alleviate this include overhead. My current configuration looks like
[apc]
apc.enabled = 1
apc.include_once_override = 1
apc.shm_size = 32M
apc.stat = 0
apc.ttl = 0
The issue is when I install the packaged apc.php to one of the site's document root, I only ever see something like below

Hi all,
My Drupal website is running very slow and we just wake up to trying to optimize the performance. I read a lot of thing about performance and caching system before and my main reason to post here is that I'm a bit confuse so I need some advice to find the best way to increase the perfomance of my site.
Maybe my post will also help high perfomance beginner.
First my website is:
- around 130 modules enabled (50 custom modules + cck, views, ctools, panels + different front end and back en modules)
Scaling Drupal on shared hosting
Hi folks,
A client of ours just migrated their Drupal site to a shared hosting service and now experiencing performance issues with logged in users. Drupal's caching and APC are enabled, so content is loading fine for anonymous users. We are mostly running into issues with node add forms and administrative pages loading very slowly.
Has anyone run into similar issues migrating a site from a dedicated server to shared hosting? How did you improve performance on your site?

Hi,
I've a huge (4Go) database with 157 302 nodes and more than 1.5 million comments when the views module try to execute the query below it takes 22s to MySQL to return the result, do you have any MySQL or Drupal trick to help me reduce this time? (without using drupal cache)
I'm running this website on a Intel Xeon Quad Core 3220/3330 dedicated server with 8go of memory

MySQL Tuning: tmp_table_size and max_heap_table_size
I'm switching over to a new server for my Drupal sites and am starting to tweak MySQL using tuning-primer and mysqltuner. I'm hosting on a VE server at Media Temple with (currently) 1GB of dedicated RAM. The database is currently MyISAM with no INNODB.

Drupal has proven to be a high-performance, high-scalability content management platform. Success deploying and managing enterprise-class Drupal implementations requires the same best practices and careful attention to detail as any large-scale project.

In the past, using MySQL tuning scripts like mysqltuner.pl and tuning-primer.sh have always suggested increasing table_cache to fairly high levels. I've now been reading a few articles about benchmarks that have suggested a lower table_cache can often result in better performance (one such blog post at http://www.mysqlperformanceblog.com/2009/11/16/table_cache-negative-scal...).
So I was wondering what experiences people have had running Drupal sites in terms of tweaking table_cache.

We are using the Varnish/Pressflow stack for a large customer and running into some issues where visitors are being passed through Varnish. Upon closer inspection we are seeing all sorts of cookies that I cannot find in code.
