Newbie APC Question
I suspect this is a general Apache question, rather than a Drupal question, but since I may be wrong and you guys will know the answer I'll just run this question by you:
I am just competent enough to get myself in trouble so I want to make sure I understand this correctly --

Read moreD7:Static HTML , have to hack core ? need help
need help:
i just received an order to build a website using drupal 7 and the most difficult part is "to generate static html page for nodes/entities"
1.boost do not support drupal 7 , so , seems that i have to write a custom module .
2.i found that i have to hack core to accomplish :
include/common.inc/ function drupal_deliver_html_page($page_callback_result);
in this function , change line "print drupal_render_page($page_callback_result);" to the following two lines , and everything is fine
$s=drupal_render_page($page_callback_result);

Read moreUsing CDN to serve Cached Site
Hi Everyone.
There are few modules, which help to serve Drupal website using CDN with Origin Pull or Push Technologies.
However, i don't want to do the things they do. They are most of the times, helping to keep the files or rich media on their cached servers, which can be used from Points of Presence of CDN provider. If we host files with them and use some URL, the files may end up hosted on some subdomain like cdn.site.com (which i don't think is good)
Read moreACLs & Block Cache
So I have a site that has both a forum section in which I'd like only logged in users to be able to post (comment) and an articles section in which I'd like anonymous users to be able to post. ACL + Forum Access seems to solve my problem, but disables the block cache. If I'm worried about performance, should this be a deal-breaker? Will other caching options be degraded by my lack of a block cache? Or will other high-performance options (CacheRouter is my planned solution) mask this problem?
Thanks in advance.

Read moreShortening HTML id's and classes automatically in order to reduce kb of document and improve loading speed
When viewing Drupal HTML, one notices that the id's and classes on a HTML element can be at times numerous and large. Some of the tags are quite long as well. While clear tags can make for excellent readibility, and ease of design; they are extra bytes which slow down the passing of data, and add kb to the bandwidth.
What about automatically renaming and storing HTML elements and equal CSS tags in letter and number combinations?
For example, for illustration purposes:
<
div class="block block-block ">
<
div class="block-inner clear-block">
