The Western Massachusetts Drupal User Group is organizing the first ever DrupalCamp out here in beautiful and happening Pioneer Valley on Jan 22nd, 2011. The Pioneer valley is home to 5 renowned colleges (Smith, Hampshire, UMass Amherst, Mt. Holyoke, Amherst College) as well as dozens of bars, clubs, cafes, galleries, hikes, boutiques and other things humans like.
Steve Brewer has gotten us a fantastic space in the ultra modern Integrated sciences building at UMass. We have several state-of-the-art classrooms with projectors, a 300 seat auditorium, and a large atrium for open discussions. Registration is free and we need people to start submitting sessions now. The deadline for session submissions is Jan 10th, but don’t wait till the last moment.

Unfortunately there's no forum on the DC site, otherwise I'd post this there, but but is there any chance people are driving from Boston and would be willing to give me a ride? I'd be more than happy to help pay for gas :)
Thanks,
Rebecca
Car Pool to Amherst Drupal Camp
I can give a ride if you can get as far as the Riverside T station. Any other West-of-Boston folks interested in car pooling to Western MA?
Yes, I'm interested. I'm
Yes, I'm interested.
I'm coming from near Milford, MA and would like to carpool out to Amherst; either sharing my Honda Civic coupe OR helping someone else pay for gas (hopefully with a bigger car!). I can travel up 495 to connect with Route 90 to rendezvous with any other west-ward traveling Bostonian Drupalites.
Current Car-Pool Plans
Erik and I agreed to meet near the intersection of Routes 9 and 495. Unless we come up with a better idea, we will meet in the parking lot of the Red Roof Inn. If it is just the two of us, we will take Erik's Civic. If a few more people join us, we can use my Odyssey.
Sorry for the late response,
Sorry for the late response, I can get to the Riverside T station as I live on the D Line/C Line. Would you mind giving me a lift? I can help with the cost of gas :)
Thanks!
No problem
I do not mind at all. If you can get to Riverside by 6:30, we can meet up with Erik (and possibly others) at 7:00 and get to Amherst by 8:30. That gives us some time to get un-lost, find parking, whatever, before the fun starts at 9:00.
I will get in touch via your contact form.
(I go to Amherst a couple of times a year, so I am not really worried about getting lost.)
North Shorians going to Jan Drupal Camp?
Hi, I'm driving from North Shore - Ipswich, if anyone would like to coordinate going in my car or another car pool situation. Let me know.

The event was great -- very well organized and executed. The sessions I attended were professional, with enthusiastic presenters and appreciative audiences. I was also surprised at how close it was, how easy it was to find, and how easy it was to park. The facility was beautiful, too. It was handy having an emergency shower available in case a session got out of hand I got drush or grep on me. ;-)
All the sessions I attended
All the sessions I attended or heard about were well attended and well done! Huge thanks to the presenters for giving their time to make this camp a valuable experience for all.
I agree
The sessions were first rate and well thought out.
I appreciate each presenter putting in the time and effort, and I'm only sorry that I couldn't attend two at once.
The other attendees were willing to share their knowledge, and it was good to finally meet some people face-to-face.
The location at UMass was perfect, and I appreciate the Wifi access and A/V setup.
And just when you thought it couldnt get better... we had free-pizza and later even free-drinks courtesy of the sponsors...
