This group is wonderful and now that I've started to do some training myself I'd like to propose a few quick changes to the group pages.
1) The WIKI pages for course syllabuses are awesome, Can we branch these out to a new Page via the new panels functionality on G.D.O?
2) My classes as of late have focused on creating a site and a module over a period of time. Either in the section above or in a new section I'd like to upload a few "training" modules that are essentially the answers to a set of exercises that should be performed within a class.
thoughts, opinions?

Regarding your 2nd question
Regarding your 2nd question - I think it would be great if you uploaded your exercises as separate pages, and link to them from within the wiki pages (for example: http://groups.drupal.org/node/10755)
yup..
I'll go ahead and do that. I've also modified that course syllabus to include the stuff that I teach. Most of it was overlap so I mainly just expanded it. Read it over and provide feedback/revise.

I'm having problems with the group's organization as well...
I really don't think that it's sufficient to simply add links into the wikis, we definitely need some overall navigation improvements and panels may be the way to go. I'm currently digging through the "river of news" to try and figure where things stand with various parts of the curriculum, and it's really scattered and thus really hard to figure out where to jump in.
Our shop is in the process of coming up with a training curriculum, and we're going to be putting a good amount of resources into this for the foreseeable future, so if this is something I can help with, please let me know.
Also- does anyone know how to add the ability to post comments on wiki pages? Is this something only admins can do? Tracking with diff would also be nice, but is slightly less important (imo)...

Unit testing in modules
Somethings I think could be added to this:
1: Using unit testing and the importance of it in module development/maintainance. This will become more signifcant as SimpleTest is being moved to core for Drupal 7. http://drupal.org/simpletest.
2: An "ugly" module could be created for the purpose of illustrating the coding standard and best practices.
3: Should firebug also be introduced in the tools section?

Interface with other complimentary groups
This one is a bit of a trick in such a huge community where similar ideas/ideals can be found scattered about all over the Drupal channels, planet, cons, camps, and local user meetups. Also doesn't help when one of the most promising/largest groups became so stagnant that even those in it considered it dead.
Thankfully with our leader back in the game and others working on some lofty issues, I think we have a great opportunity for a bit of synergy. A short term goal is to make the Dojo useful as a channel for both online lessons, collaborative workshops, and even screencasts. The platform is available to all and the subject matter is whatever would be a contribution to Drupal.
So what do you think we can do?

Dojo and Curriculum
While I do think the development of the dojo are connected, since ideally the dojo will have ties into a curriculum at some point, I think they are fairly independent of each other. The dojo has worked well in the past without a curriculum, and the dojo wouldn't be the only site/entity to use a curriculum if it was started. In our case we need at least minimal curriculum for teaching people in person, whom we would hopefully then be able to hire on in some capacity. Thus for us it's much more important to develop training materials than videos, although we'll certainly produce some webcasts with some of our items (or point to webcasts that already exist and that we feel are good fits for our style of teaching).
