San Diego Drupal Meetup Venue

I was at a PHP Developer Meetup in San Marcos last week and gave a brief presentation on Drupal.

There seemed to be quite a bit of interest in the topic :)

It also occurred to me that we have some current users that are coming down from up north.

Given that the current venue is a bit noisy and parking can be difficult in the evening, it might be a good time to consider a new venue.

If we could move the meetup further north, we could probably boost the attendance a bit. And as far as the venue, local libraries are a good prospect, but they might close too early for our purposes. Another option is to rent a space in a Hotel. The PHP meetup was in a small meeting room at a Hampton Inn. I'm not sure what the cost is for that sort of location or if the group is willing to pay something for a venue. But it's something to think about. One advantage to a real conference room would be the ability to do more directed presentations rather than the informal chats we tend to have due to the restrictions of Cream.

I'm going to create a poll to get a better idea of where we might locate the meetup.

Please post your ideas here. And if anyone is willing to help come up with a venue (make some calls, etc...) say so :)
