English translation, since http://groups.drupal.org/finland mentions "Discussion both in Finnish and English":
I see that a new group has appeared for Scandinavia, with categories for Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. But since we already have groups on g.d.o for all these countries I don't see much of a need for a new common group. If someone has something to say that's relevant for several countries, it's quite simple to crosspost the message in the relevant country-specific groups.
I assume that those who started the Scandinavia group didn't know about the existing nordic groups? There are so many groups now that it's difficult to find all the relevant ones. I suggest that the Scandinavia group is terminated, and that the posts there (including an interesting proposal for a nordic meet-up) are posted in the relevant country groups. Then they'll reach a much broader audience than in a newly established group.

I agree. The initiative is, of course, appreciated but let's try not to confuse new users or spread our content thin over two setups.

The country specific categories are the problem
I don't object to a common group for the Scandinavian countries - used only for topics covering more than one country. This is much cleaner than cross-posting and then discussing common topics in a country specific group. So I suggest remove the categories and then we'll see if there really is a need for Scandinavian group.

Yes It's me
I have created this 'Scandinavia' group as a discussion subject for the Szeged Viking MeetUp. The group is thought as a working ground for at possible future Scandinavian DrupalCon (or meetup).
If the project is applauded by the scandinavians at DrupalCon in Szeged, I won't delete the group ;)

I agree with Hans Nordhaug.
Maybe the the country specific categories confuses the picture of a Scandinavian group and needs to go.

That would help a lot. It would also help if you link to all the country groups somewhere on your main page. One of the things I'm worried about is if a new Scandinavian user finds this group, with a lot of empty categories and not much content, and thinks that there's no Drupal activity in his or her country at all, when there's a lot of activity in the country's own group or site(s).
Thanks :-) Just to be clear: I do think that more Nordic/Scandinavian cooperation would be a good thing, and I applaud your initiative. I hope you all have a great time in Szeged! (I'm not going, unfortunately.)
