Good news folks. We finally have a real location for our DUG.

I've been in contact with the dean at Platt College, and she's going out of her way to make a spot for us. Platt is a web/design technical training school, so it's really a nice match.

The facility is well suited for presentations. It's also centrally located. I've only been there once. As I recall, there is plenty of street parking.

In order to try to encourage some of the Platt students into the Drupal community, I'd like us to begin with a series of design and theming related topics. We'll probably start with the very basics of Drupal theming.

I've been waiting for a suitable facility before making the meetings more formal. At this point, I think we should try to keep a consistent structure, something like presentation -> Q/A -> open discussion/development.

I'd like to get an idea of how many people are going to be attending. We will also have Platt students showing up, so this is likely to be our biggest meeting to date.

The topic is going to be "Introduction to Drupal and Drupal Theming". If this topic sounds boring to you, please make an effort to show up anyway and help answer questions. I really want to try to bring more people into the San Diego Drupal commuity.
