Sponsorship Packages

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

During the planning session for the upcoming DrupalCamp we discussed the need for sponsorship packages to help offset the costs of the event, which should end up costing about $7,000 or so, and we decided to come up with sponsorship packages. Below are my initial thoughts on DrupalCamp Philly sponsorship packages, but please keep in mind that some of the items are are up in the air, as we're still not certain whether we'll be able to offer up tables during the lunch session or whether we can put up signs on any of the rooms. Please leave any thoughts, questions, complaints, etc. in the comments. Please note that at least one of my suggestions would alter the timetable slightly.

Diamond (1 available) - $2,000
- One page ad on the reverse side of program sheet + other materials included with registration
- Table for entire day adjacent to registration table and in lunch area during job fair
- Mentioned in all official announcements and e-mails
- Logo on all signage
- 15 minutes to address entire group prior to first session
- Lunch area will be named after the donating company

Platinum (2 available) - $1,000
- Materials handed out with registration
- Table during lunch/job fair
- Mentioned in all official announcements and e-mails
- Logo on all signage
- 5 minutes to address entire group prior to afternoon session
- Room named after the donating company

Gold (4 available) - $500
- One page of materials handed out with registration
- Shared table during job fair (2 to a table)
- Logo on all signage

Silver (as many as possible) - $250 and Bronze - $100
- Logo on all signage
- Eternal love from the local community

Individuals $50-100
- Eternal love from the local community

How should sponsors donate, e.g., where to send the check and in whose name?

Good question...

Nate- do you have any sort of entity set up for this and/or the php group? If not we should really just go ahead and set up an LLC or something to handle it...

I don't have a separate company or non-profit to deal with events. So far I've just paid for what needed to be done.

It would be nice to avoid setting something up in 2008, if only to simplify accounting. Plus, I don't expect something could be formed in time to pay for this event.

So the options are, run the money through one of our companies, or, have sponsors pay the venue directly.

Does anyone foresee a problem with having RRS, ZivTech, or someone else handle the money this time around?

OK

OK with me. I have our check and one from a recruiter, possibly another. Let me know where to send.
