I am able to use 'Sticky at Top of list' flag but 'Promoted to Home Page' flag is not working.
This is our first serious attempt with OP. Any help will be welcome

This happened to me too. You need to add a filter to the view that is used in the home page block to show only nodes which have been promoted. Log in as admin and go to: /admin/build/views/edit/articles. Click on the Home page block, then in Filters click the add icon, then choose 'Node: promoted to home page' (or something along those lines), and add it to the view. Be careful that you must add this only to the Home page block dispay.
You should have a little experience with views before attempting this and I recommend you test it on a development environment. Good luck!

Same here - article promoted to home page not showing in OP
I'm having the same issue here, I added the "Node: 'Node: promoted to home page' filter to just the Home page block, but still did not show. In the "articles" view, the content in question is showing in the Default and Page views preview, but not the 2 block views (home page and featured home page).
If anyone has any insight into what may be happening, I would appreciate it.
